Pakistan War on Terror 2.0: Solutions?

Didn't work in Iraq. Hasn't worked anywhere. Also, 'Abolish PA' is like asking the King to abdicate; best case scenario, the request will be ignored. Worst case scenario: as a famous man has said 'All power flows from the barrel of a gun'
It didn't work out for coalition forces but worked out just fine for the Shia majority of Iraq.

Aren't they protesting and a huge fight broke out with rival factions in Baghdad like this year?

It worked well for Iran imo.

What was actually the root cause of terrorism?
Radicalization of people on border areas was the root cause of origin of Talibans on both sides.Thousands of madrasas were built to radicalize the people which eventually backfired on Pakistan itself.
Now what is the solution to end this mess up?
Quality scientific educational network across the affected areas can reverse the radicalization if the educational system is properly sustained for at two to three decades.
If the funds are not enough,at least organize sports competitions in FATA and it's surrounding belt.Aim should be to involve the youth in healthy and economic activities as much as possible.
The influence of religious parties should be decreased as much as possible otherwise this shit will never end
And at the same time, military operations should be carried out properly.

Taliban is entirely a creation of Pakistan for dubious reasons like Strategic Depth. Pakistan's generals have claimed it with great pride. Now, Taliban ruled Afghanistan is seeking and exercising Strategic Depth inside Pakistan. Classical case of Frankenstein monster. Sleeping with a Rattlesnake is a poor choice of self-defense.
You guys (Indians) have a very overly simplistic and crude understanding of things. You largely have no idea what you are talking about. You guys try to make complex issues sound simple and blame them on Pakistan. Take a hike on these issues.

There is still a very very very slouch approach to providing bulletproof vehicles. so many troops die because they had 0 armoured vehicles. This is beyond a joke. How many lives could have been saved because there is always money for chori and daka but never for MRAP/APC
who will guard ghq and corps commander houses then?

We can take up that discussion in another thread, since going into those details will take this thread too far off topic.

On topic, it is Zia's legacy of Pakistan's involvement in Afghanistan that is causing headaches to this day.
incorrect. involvement in afghanistan goes as far back as pakistan itself, when afgahnis attacked pakistan or supported lashkars that attacked pakistan, and supported pashtunistan movement. contrary to popular belief, it was bhutto who started funding the relgious insurgents in afghanistan as a retort to pashtunistan movement. zia ul haq revived that program and simply expanded the operation.

and when ussr was preparing to leave, zia ul haq insisted on setting up of an interim consensus govt involving all parties before they leave. this may have ensured peace, but unfortunately not made a part of geneva accords.

....and it was benazir (aka mother of taliban) and nasirullah babar who supported taliban because they wanted their own horse in the race, and disengaged from existing factions post 89.

Not saying this. The policies are ofcourse driven by collective establishment.

But as ISI head, the failure to foil terror attacks are his responsibility.

But yeah, your question is valid. The entire approach / policy needs to change. Not just the ISI head.

I just came across following tweet. The guy told the solution as well in his own words (and in frustration)

I am glad that we are slowly moving from tactics to strategy to approach/policy.

I urge you to take it one step further: it's the entire nizaam. Nothing good can come out of our current institutional design, societal conception of the 'common good,' and constitutional framework. We are screwed till we have spineless politicians and political generals. And since the entire system is designed to only allow these two categories to rise to the top, the only solution is a complete, grassroots, systematic change --- i.e., radical reform through a revolution of some sort.

Is it realistic? Of course not. But that's the only real solution. We can keep discussing tactics all day here.

My 2c.

1. Get a Time machine
2. Go back in time.
3. Don't create Taliban
4. Come back to present.
Come back to present to glorious soviet union.

It's like Marty coming back into the timelime where Biff rules the world.

The only problem is the Army.

Pakistan is the only Nuclear Armed country IN THE WORLD that has active insurgencies within it's borders.

Unfazed in the face of losing soldiers everyday WHILE NOT IN A STATE OF WAR - check
Complete lack of control on territory - check
Not focusing on the job (DHA) - check
Not providing on the ground soldiers with proper equipment (Hiluxes lmao. Average US redneck rocks a Silverado) - check

So many more you'll get dizzy just reading them.

No solution, unless GHQ is reformed. That is not going to happen anytime soon.

Lets put aside all the hyper playground slogans of "break the back", "snatch the eyes out", "shower them in their own blood" and discuss cold heart solutions to Pakistan's War on Terror 2.0. Here are cold facts:
  1. Pakistan is close to default
  2. Taliban will remain on our Western Borders
  3. India will remain on our Eastern Borders and will continue to fund anybody and everybody against us
  4. People of Baluchistan feel disenfranchised and feel that their riches are being exploited (East Pakistan 2.0)
  5. There are religious elements who are open to indoctrination and brainwashing
Feel free to add more issue and lets discuss solutions
  1. deradicalize the society. prevent and discourage organizations like TLP and Sipah Sahabah that originally start in the name of honoring Islam.
  2. call out , challenge and discourage all Taliban apologists in PTI and JUI.
  3. Start 2nd cull in military and its agencies of elements that are supportive of sectarian and religious terrorist organizations.
  4. Humanize all marginalized minorities regardless if they are officially declared Kafir or not. their persecution must not be mocked or justified.,
  5. show same love to Afghans as shown by them specially Punjsheris and Azbeks towards Pakistan.

Another thing, last war on terror was understandable. This war will NOT be welcomed by the public in Pakistan. How the F did these scrounge pop up like garden weed and have access to afghani land like holes in swiss cheese.

What a farce. the military estab-lash-mant is NOT going to have the blessings of the nation. They fkd the country up and no more unconditional love this time.
yea the typical answer you will get is whataboutism or GHQ. just pink everything on GHQ.
as if GHQ mind fucks every scumbag in society to give refuge to terrorists. secretly provide funds and even send its children to join them and then on social media justify religious hatred

they prey on issues and conflicts that arise between sects. how do you intend to moderate that? i.e., stop a certain sect from badmouthing respectable personalities of other sects?

who else do we pin it on? they run absolutely everything and are the absolute authority in matters of the state.

they have eyes and ears on all affairs too. in a span of a year the efforts put into political engineering is the only effort we have seen.

I refuse to believe they were not privy to this fallacy in security deterioration.
