Sorry- I think you were meaning Johor.. I only know about Sabah, Sarawak, Kedah, selangor, Melacca, Pahang and Negeri Sembilan

Yups @ resorts, both countries. Love Bali!

Regarding religious interaction, I try my best to stay away

Last month I visited Morocco for holidays. That country and the people are absolutely influential. I would recommend you to go visit there. It reminds me of Pakistan, but only safer, cleaner, and having sense of keeping islamic cultural rich. You will see muslims, men and women with rights.. Since this thread is about women and their laws, Moroccans can be seen with hijabs, and with mini skirts. Amazingly, no one one stocks, harasses, robs anything like that. By far, i'd day its the best place in the whole world.

Well, what I think is, you are a bright cookie!

Keep on reading girl.... just don't slap me during a heated debate @ morons, sometimes I loose my cool, stupidity really... really... truly.... bothers the **** out of me. ;)

Thank you. I am still human so of course I do get angry, but I do apologize after a heated debate :P

I'll give it a try. I had a colleague from there, a pretty decent guy, though he was deadly quiet. I thought he hated me :P

Anytime mate. Why don't you spare sometime and also visit Cyprus as well? I'll be here during that time (till after new-year).... you're most welcome to stay @ my place!

BTW, tickets are DIRT cheap from Istanbul.

Thanks for the offer mate but i think i will be there for just a couple of hours or a day at max. I have a family member living there too but i think i won't have enough time to even greet him. He lives in izmir and he was willing to come to Istanbul. But then again due to short time, i don't think its happening.

Highly recommended. Its cheap to go from U.K. too. I went to Marakesch by Ryanair.....

Sigh...Would love to go about...but going alone is no fun and in the start of a PhD is not worth the tension! :(

Errr...how did we go from women rights to visiting Turkey? :D

I guess we are talking about muslim countries. Maybe exchanging expereinces including female observations helps understand the topic of the issue better :woot:

Hmmmmmm. couple of hours.... if the stay is > 8 hours, I'd recommend Hagia Sophia, or if you want to have fun, then I'd recommend Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. Other than that, to see palaces and other places, you need some serious time on hand.

I have an idea, there is awesome hotel @ inside-terminal. Delay your ticket for a day, and get your baggage to your room, and have fun in Istanbul for a full whole day. :pop:

Because, it's awesome! :P

Hijab is Farz on Muslim and it is duty of Islamic government to apply it and Islamic Government can also decide punishment for it

Why are you always so fixated on punishments ? Is Islam all about punishments ?

Personally if you think you need that, you can visit a good domina or in your case, the neighbourhood mulla.

Well, most people just state their opinion, is that not what this forum has turned into? People spitting their anger out for and against + as well as at whatever they feel like, whenever they feel like?

Well, for some without punishing a point can not be made- Look at USA for instance...it thought it right to PUNISH those who were and were not involved with 9/11 and further "punish" "Afghan" for having Taliban, Iraq for having Saddam, "Libya" for having Ghadaffi,, "Egypt" for having Mubarak...

Punishment is just a way for making people behave...I am not sure why people get offended by the word punishment.. Look at the crooked laws of the West...Where multiple killers, drug suppliers as well as pimps get to negotiate with the police for a bargain.

Now that is just chauvinist

By her not wearing appropriate clothes she is asking for it
By her covering decently, she looks hot
By her covering her face she is oppressed...

When can she walk with pride without worrying about your chauvinist comments?
