Well, there is something behind translating Arabic names into European languages. It is not only this word, they have even tried to translate or I don't know what is the proper word for this practice (latinized?), the names of persons too.

Ibn Sina's = Avicenna
Ibn al-Haytham = Alhazen or Alhacen
Al-Zarqali = Arzachel or Arsechieles
Al-Idrisi = Dreses

Now tell me, cant they pronounce these names? Names are generally not 'indigenized'.

I've read your posts above. And your posts sound stupid to say the least with ill devised logic. If the Indian PM wants nationalistic ideology, the world buys into it. The same goes for your PM too or the government. Do you think he just woke up one day and decided to put something like this in motion? NO, that may happen in your household.

At a government level, there are decisions made after research and discussions. You can bet on that when it comes to these guys. Take a look at the new Bloomberg report and there was an article about Pakistan's growing economy a couple of days ago. Google it and read it. Like I said, AS LONG AS a nation wants to show Nationalistic characters WITH PEACE. There is no harm in doing what they did. Read up my post and see how other nations are doing so already. Don't turn a fact based post into political bullshi*t. You don't have a proper come back, go hide in your room, dress up like a girl and cry!!!

The names you are providing above.....what do they have to do with the names provided in the topic? None of the topic names are as complex as these. Like I said in my post, words like Mazal Tov, Rabi, Toe Dah, Pandit, Guru are part of regular English. So if a country wants to use Masjid instead of Mosque, there is nothing wrong with it. As long as things are done peacefully, without violence and do not hurt anyone civil rights or religious liberty. Not sure what the issue is here with people!!

If the Pakistani PM wants to enforce usage of all these Arabic words into Pakistan's national language Urdu, I would be the first to applaud this decision. Don't you understand? He wants to impose a foreign language 'Arabic' on Pakistanis who are majority illiterate!!!

You gotta be kidding dude, why would we ban English, its just for Islamic studies, where instead of prayer they would use the word "Salat", instead of mosque it would be masjid, etc, just for religious education, plz check before u start typing

There is nothing behind it, its simply a case of 'Lost in translation'. Just because the majority of Pakistanis, actually most South Asians pronounce Prince George as 'Preense Jaarj' (minus those of us with anglicized accents), it does not mean it carries some pejorative association. In similar fashion, the Greeks refer to Thucydides in a fashion much different from how the name is mentioned in European text, however no ulterior motives are alleged.

Idiota it is better to do some research before opening your mouth.
What you are saying names are basically castes or common local names. We have many like them as well. For example Raja, Chohan, Rajput, Bhatti, Butt, Baloch, Chandio, Warraich, Khan, Khattak, Achakzai, etc.

Pakistanis have various Afghan and Persian names as well besides Arabic ones like Shehryar, Asfandyar, Danish , Sher Khan, Babrak etc.
Last but not the least, there are many local names like Imtiaz, Nazakat, Maula Bakhs, Allah Ditta, Karamdad, Fida, etc.

Better think for a few moments before posting the same debunked stereotypes over and over again.

Last of all, what's before Erodogan? An Arabic word Tayyab I guess.
