What's new

PAF to get extra F-16 Block-52+ ?

Between I would suggest only F 16 and JF 17 for you...

Post jf17 , you can go in for something that's new and suitable for you..

. .
Mig 29 k are almost closer to flankers..

Russian themselves are opting mig 29 k than su 33 for their navy..

Mig-29k is nowhere near a flanker.
Useless radar,,near obsolete irst,weak engines,bad cockpit.........u name it:mad:

.
Pakistan should wish , if Russia remove sanction from AL31 engine, that would be greatest achievement . Pakistan has more option to buy even PAKFA..

I knew you did enough research in radars.. So I would take your word for it..

But what I told is what I read sometime back..

Pak fa , not even Remotely possible.
Can't even we can have debate on this..

.
I meant mig 35 not su 35..

Su 35 will expensive ..

Mig 35 is the updated version of mig 29.. + 3d tvc + AESA

I was saying mig 29 as cheaper 2 nd hand alternatives that Pakistan is looking for after F 16 and JF 17

Since getting mirage 2009 and updating will be more expensive than new mig 29

Well it depends on the requirement & budget as well. If PAF have enough budget in future then they would consider buying 5th gen fighter jets as I said before. Rest, GOD knows well.

.
If pak is going to have 400 fighter jets , then

50 stealth j 31 , 100 medium F 16 , 250 low end JF 17 jets would be the present aim

U already have 60-70 F 16, JF 17 on course

Stealth will come later post 2020..

U just have concentrate on jf17 and wherever possible for sale of F16.

though my post is not directly related with the debate you are having with @Mav3rick but I think I can post something which might be of your interest related to this point .... hope you would reconsider your 'tens of billions of dollars' statement ...

Hon HRK,

Data given in your post gives dollar value of the time weapons were delivered, not in current dollars. Ex PAF personnel will vouch that when Pakistan placed first order of Mirages with France just after 1971 war; it only cost $100-million for 30 Mirages. Today a new Mirage albeit Mirage -2000 costs upward of $60-million per plane. Indian paid in excess of $10-billion for 126 Rafael.

I have always been hampered by my below average intelligence, hence I fail to understand what point you are trying to make. At no point I stated that US military aid/sales to Pakistan were worth 10’s of billions. I implied that replacing all of US military hardware by non-US equipment of equivalent quality would cost tens of billions.

I have no argument with honourable Mav3rick either. I have merely pointed out that “Praying” for Pressler Amendment to be re-imposed on Pakistan was an emotional outburst without due diligence.

Finally, I thank you for providing excellent data regarding US military supplies to Pakistan from 1950 to 2013.

Do u think 2 indians are lying here for no reason??
Type on google and see urself:sarcastic:

My point was simple and plain US had supplied us weapons and ammunition in past & doing the same in current times as well, but our National Defence Apparatus & Arrangements are not 'dependent' to USA any more, in fact we are at the stage where USA does not enjoy 'irreplaceable' status any more.

This point become more clear when we do not observe any high value defence hardware of US origin in our Arm forces other then F-16, our subs are of French origin (future subs would be of Chinese origin), our Tanks are of our own made, our Cargo Helicopters are of Russian origin only limited numbers of attack Helicopters (Cobra) are USA made which would eventually get replaced from any of the Russian, Chinese or Turkish option, 100% small arm & ammunition of Pakistan defence forces is home made.

And I agree with you on Pressler Amendment part as Mav3rick response was an emotional outburst, wishing for diplomatic strife with USA is not a sensible approach.

If you feel offended by my previous post in any manner I apologize for it.

I personally believe that, PAF should stop buying further F-16s. If they are intended to buy medium range fighter jets then latest F15s or F18s would be the much better option.
