How can you tell? U.S has to arm Pakistan and keep our capabilities to a certain level, situation on Indian border can escalate any time even when both are apparently happy with each other. So we won't rush to the nukes before someone intervenes and maybe reduce our nuke production speed and the way this Indian govt. has been acting. We are not under sanctions these days so we can buy many things if we've resources which is our big problem these days. And money my friend plays bigger role sometimes than politics. If we've money and are eager to buy, why should U.S turn that money down and let someone else get it?Take this as a realistic outcome.
Those additional f16 and frigates are requests by Pakistan.
USA has not offered these and you guys will want them for free or aid grant funds.
There is huge pressure in USA to stop aid to Pakistan as soon as usa withdraws from Afghanistan. The obl lincident has left huge mistrust.
Pakistanis Think and hope aid from USA will continue and the obl episode will be forgotton but things will turn sour after the withdrawl
Our general is home.We don't get anything free we've to pay to the corporations U.S govt. doesn't own lockheed and have not received that much support funds as you people taunt even what were duesUmair
Your general's are in Washington as we speak.
They are asking for grant aid military hardware . Ie free f16 and frigates.
They the pak military are trying to squeeze what they can on pretext we are helping you the USA in wot.
blackmailing the USA if India starts something we will go nuclear or give us free conventional arms is the other common line they use.
Ultimately its about getting free hardware no matter which route you take.
To date it has worked
But it is coming to an end as there is a lot if mistrust and resentment towards Pakistan. In usa now
mairay bhai.Because Defense have money to buy it even as usual Saudi can help them to buy latest technology.
Anyway if you have to buy and dump it after 10 to 12 years that will be more waste of money
Oscar.Looking at the news and some of the usual reactionaries shooting from the hip. One needs to look at what will happen if you purchase these items. Lets start with the F-16s.
Currently Pakistan has 18 F-16 block-52s that form a single squadron at Shahbaz. The addition of 8 F-16 will bring that number up to 26 and allow the possibility of creating two different squadrons... or the largest squadron Pakistan would have. Those additional aircraft will bring the advantage that their package brings increasing the lethality of what resides at Shahbaz and considering we already have them, the cost of this additional force increase will be minimal. So from any PoV this would be a smart move and quite beneficial.. but we have hot headed reactionary statements all the time.. nothing new there.
While I am not entirely in favour of the Zulu Cobra, I am not against it either. It offers commonality and ease of training along with pre-existent weapons stock. Only the price will determine if it is a better option than the T-129(also what possibly is there that the engine issue with the T-129 was perhaps created to get Pakistan to be a customer for the AH-1Z. Money coming through has a lot of impact)
The OHPs are a no brainer. They are great ships that once upgraded with Turkish help would prove to be an effective Surface warfare asset. And since these were already provisioned for via EDA.. all you need to pay for is the refurbishment cost.
Dost.Pakistan is Non NATO Ally
The USA and CHINA Relations was Established through Pakistan
The All USA sanctions against Pakistan were failed
Pakistan were successful in nuclear program defeating all US sanctions
Pakistan have very unique geopolitical situation in the region us can't afford Pakistan importance.
Dexter and Somalia support.Kid we have exchange for both !! Come in Russia and see from the first hand !! Why not ?? From many you will not get a headache !!
Oscar.
Fully agreed witb you on all. If I could just add we need some more Mlued/ non Mlued bl.15s. If we made it a condition that we buy 8 52s but get 16 bl.15s as excess defence articles to MLU locally or at TAI, I think it would be a much better deal for less money than Bl.52s alone. Our fleet is fast decaying and this would be the most expedient way and allow some laxity with bl. 2 JF17 induction after appropriate testing.

They are buying AESAs for their fleet so they're gonna keep 'em for a whileWell the old saying goes "there is no such thing as free lunch". So the same goes for EDA F-16s(not many block-15s left as the PAF has already scoured the market including US stocks for the aircraft). So if there are any EDA F-16s to be had they would have to be either Block 25(also unlikely to be in a condition that the PAF would accept) or Block 32(very rare). Most Block-42s have undergone CCIP and so will continue to serve the USAF for at least another decade or more.
This is a few month old but it might help you decide.Well the old saying goes "there is no such thing as free lunch".
