PAF inaugurates new operational air base at Bholari near Karachi

There had to be response at some stage by PAF to IAF Phalodi airbase in the same region. This relieves pressure from PAF squadrons deployed in jacoabad and masroor.

Arent these ADF versions supposed to get MLU making them strike capable?

Also, MR squadrons have all round capability of AD and Strike. 19th is MR.

Interesting to note capability of 6 BVR missiles with 600 Gal of fuel tanks. BVR launchers can be fitted on wing tips.

They should put a SSW squadron with rotary/fixed air transport element at this base.
1-2 mushaq placed in mob is standard and there can be a sqn of Mi 17's/ Alouette like all other mob's .
There is Satallite base in noshera mirpur khas and FOB at sukkur so sind is pretty much covered now our focus now should be balochistan.

It would require US State Dept. and Congress approval.

The Americans have blocked transfer of another batch of Jordanian F-16 Block 15 ADF's (which have been MLU'ed to Block 40 configuration).

Possibly, No. 19 sqn is using Atlis II laser designator pods for precision strike.

@Ulla

This new base is supposed to give PN cover also, does this base provide enough air cover for an amphibious assault into rann of kutch area by Pakistan Marines?

The radar is old APG-66 but upgraded to V-1 to make it BVR capable. Engine is different, the 220 series instead of 200.

PN has own new air base sir in turbat
:enjoy:

Sir, actually Turbat is 750 km away from Rann of kutch area.

I suspect PN will deploy MPA's (Orion and ATR-72) at this airbase. After the massive loss in PNS Mehran attack, this should be the way to go.

1st and 2nd SOS are already being used in WOT. 3rd SOS is suited for Baluchistan Ops.

The issue is that SSW has much more potential than it is being used for, im not even sure if it has a dedicated transport element. More than just downed pilot rescue, VIP protection and Anti-terrorist force.

Yes, air cover fighters.

PAF chief says, "PAF Base Bholari would also augment and supplement the very important maritime operations carried out by Pak Navy."

This is why i brought up Bholari base to support an amphibious ops by PN and PM near Rann of Kutch area.

India has 3 bases in that region
1-Jaisalmer Su 30Mki
2-Jodhpur Mig27
3-Phalodi Su-30mki,Mi-17v5,
The Distance between Jaisalmer (Rajasthan,India) and Jodhpur (Rajasthan,India) is : 221.27 kilometers (km).
The Distance between Jaisalmer (Rajasthan,India) and Phalodi (Rajasthan,India) is :145.53 kilometers (km).
Phalodi is in between both of them.
That makes a string of Enemy Bases right next to our border.IAF's other bases in Rajasthan are located at Suratgarh, Bikaner, and Barmer.
It is still insufficent to cater needs of Air Ops in that belt.

How many F-16s and Jf-17s will face how many M-29UBK from the Sea and SU-30MKI from Land, at the moment I don't see any chance for a Ran of Kutch adventure, but you are right it has very big potential for future close air support and Combat air patrol if the numbers of F-16 and more modern Jf-17 would grow. Whats the number and Type of Aircrafts which this air base can pose and will face from the Indian side?

Resources are never enough and as usual during war PAF will prioritise Air Defence of own skies to any others operations whether for Army or Navy. SU-30 squadron is stationed directly opposite to F-16 ADF squadron across the border.
The issue is not what's available, but if you plan an amphibious assault, what exactly would you need from this new PAF air base, how many fighters dedicated for an amphibious ops, fighters for air cover or for strike also, would you only require fighters or transports and ELINT too?

IMO, such an adventure requires a larger force and more assets, both of which aren't available at the moment.
So far yes.
