Oliver Hazard Class Frigate Acquisition by Pakistan

i do not think any more Oliver class ships are joining PN, the 5 remaining will probably remain with US
the relations between both countries are not so bad yet we can still get a perry class frigate from us navy after its retirment

that is just speculation, there has been no confirmation of this

There's no reason US wouldn't deliver additional OHP (they need to get rid of them anyway). What matters only is WHEN. THere are other takers (e.g. Taiwan, up for 6-8)) and these may be served first. But with close to 30 OHPs still in service, 5 more will quite likely eventully find their way to PN (it's more expensive and less beneficial to US industry to dispose of these in another way).

.
how long did it take for US to hand over OHP to Pakistan? yeah it took years, by the time we get a 2nd one it will be 2020 or even later, as of today we should have had in operation 6 OHPs, just like the AH-1 Cobras we wont get what was promised and even the ones we get will come with long delays, in comparion 3 F22Ps were delivered in break neck speed!

Not true. The first OHP transfer to PN was a hot transfer, meaning it went stright from US service into PN service and then on to refurbing at a US yard.

Oct 18/08: Pakistan’s The Nation reports that President George W. Bush has approved the transfer of USS McInerney [FFG 8] to Pakistan. (Note: US Congress still has to approve Presidenial request. And PN still has to formally request the ship from US)
Feb 19/10: US DSCA announces [PDF] Pakistan’s official request for the initial ship, plus plus refurbishment, onboard spares, spare and repairs parts, support equipment, publications and technical data, and U.S. Government and contractor support.
April 20/10: Pakistan signs a contract to purchase and refurbish the USS McInerney.
Aug 31/10: The frigate USS McInerney is slated for inactivation, and re-commissioned as PNS Alamgir
March 21/11: PNS Alamgir [refurbished] sails for Pakistan from Mayport, FL.

Note that through 31/10 McInerney was in ACTIVE USN SERVICE as are virtually all remaining OHPs (there is no pool of decommed OHPs to draw from)

Taiwan to buy two frigates from US: defence minister (Posted: 05 November 2012 1345 hrs). The two Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigates, now serving in the US navy, will be delivered to Taiwan by 2015, Kao said while answering questions in parliament.

If italicized text is correct, I suppose that means they are not FFG 33 and 39 (since already decommed 2011) but other OHPs. Which would raise the question of what happened with 33 and 39!

If italicized text is NOT correct, it could be FFG 33 and 39 after having completed refurbishment and crew training. (however, the timeline seems off: it doesn't take 2012-2014 to do this, unless it is not just refurbing but also modernizing e.g. ROCN taking boxlaunched SM1 and Stir of two old Knox frigates to reinstall them on the acquired OHPs, plus boxed domestic antiship missiles and maybe a pair of 40mm guns)

2 ships for 7,000,000,000.00 TWD = 239,366,839.30 USD > about $120 million per.
2 ships for 1,800,000,000.00 HKD = 232,255,885.60 USD > about $116 million per.
As compared to $65 million for McInerney/Alamgir ... !
