SU35 can come to Pakistan now, bright chances after mmrca deal is now done. we can go to Russia and acquire this jet. If India can reject Russian Jets, Its a good time to make some diplomatic moves and make arrangements to get this amazing jet

There is no need for SU35..Improvements in material science means Pakistan and China could pursue a join project with Russia for SU47-Berkut.

PAF is used to the high agility F16 and Berkut would fit in the same tactical advantage and training very well.

Yes Aunt, I called the NAval Chief last night and he assured me that Pakistan is soon to get aircraft carrier.....By the way you not stroked you head to the wall this time.....Any reason for that....????

Well saying seriously that Su-30 is nothing....Plz don't mind that.
Live in your wet dream kid, there is no need of an aircraft carrier for PN and where are $$$$ to built an aircraft carrier, care to explain kid?

I would think it would be much better option to bring back Pakistani economy on track. 4-5% growth is actually bad for a developing country if population pressure is increasing. We are on the verge of crossing this stage after which more stability would be there with economy flourishing one doesn't need to worry much for which military purchase to go far as all major players will line up for piece of money which is consistent. But for this one need to build base which might take significant investment and patience. Peace.

In A to A combat even suggesting JH7B an option is pathetic as it is a bomb truck and even with lots of missiles and powerful radar it shall be good only for Naval attack role only, they may require escorts from other fighter jets. The agility and stealth aspects are nearly zero. If we have to choose JH7B then it is far better to re manufacture Mirage Vs. with some latest gadgets.

SU35 is good but a heavy jet and suitable for naval roles or on limited scale for deep strike missions. In order to counter Rafael we have only following options.

(1)F16V or F16 block 60 ( both are unlikely available for Pak due to Indian Lobbies/ hostile attitude of US legislatures)
2) JF17 block-III upgraded with AESA,IRST and capable EW suit alongwith next gen BVR and WVR AAms. (may be available from 2018 roughly along with delivery of Rafaels to India).
3) J10 c-d ( may be available but engine/tech problems are there needed to be addressed)
4 Mig 35 ( PAF not seems to be interested)

Best Logical answer, so far.

I took one look at the first post and saw the mythical unicorn that the PAF will buy soon i.e. the SU-35 and just gave up....I think the thread should be locked, and this discussion has been done to death!
our nuclear program was also a mythical unicorn. nothing is rigid in international politics. Russia will lean towards us because of CPEC and this will be the turning point.

No, nothing like the SU-35 is coming brother, the quicker people accept this the better. Daydreaming about jets the PAF can't afford, won't be sold to them and which have never be flown before by PAF pilots is just counterproductive.

Every one has an eye only on me..
By the way which post you don't like....

Bottom line is we will not be able to afford a suitable deterrent in a new type of fighter plane. Even if we go for half a squad of Su 35's which is highly unlikely it will not be worth the cost or be useful counter. The reason we have always preferred to keep increasing our F16's and India recently trying to stop this increase is because the fact that it can easily go from a 52 to a 60. The only thing holding us back is need. As soon as the need is there all the wheels will start turning towards getting that upgrade. An F16V is not a joke especially if they end up being 50+ in an airforce's inventory. This is what we are banking on. How successful will we be fighting against Indian lobbies trying to stop it from happening? Only time will tell. All in all I wouldn't be too worried.

Also please put to rest this talk of getting F35's. It is not happening. There is only a 1% chance of getting Su 35's too. Talking about getting these high ticket items is laughable. Also we will not be getting AESA or anything remotely 4.5 gen in our JFT by 2018. Also RIP to the Damocles.

Sir, there is difference of thought and thinking, being optimistic is a good thing. coming to affordability and flown before element, there was a first time when we flew 16s for the first time and we can afford a dual engine jet, 4 or 5 squadrons.and
you can differ its democracy.

The thing is brother there is optimism and realism. Yes the PAF did fly F-16's for the first time during the 80's, but then look back and the sheer history it had with US jets e.g. Sabres, Starfighters etc, there was definitely continuity there. Also the economy was in far better shape.

Couldn't have said it better. Many of our guys have their heads in the clouds.

PAF doctrine is to defend our territory, not attacking on enemy, We don't need costly long-range heavys. If their is need, then we can get them on very short notice. Stop creating wishlist threads, PDF is already full of these, next time do some search and post you wishes in respective thread. Period.
