Washington: A mysterious sign board banning Muslims from using a Houston shopping center’s parking space, has sparked off massive outrage in Texas.

According to the Washington Times, the sign board, that appeared outside the parking of the shopping center, read: “No Muslim parking in the Westview Shopping Center.”

The signs also warned violators that their vehicles would be towed, the report added.

There were speculations that the signs were spawned to avoid the large crowds expected at the mosque with Muslim’s month-long fast, for the holy month of Ramadan, coming to an end.

Several mall employees privately expressed frustration with mosque members occupying parking spots meant for shoppers.

Muslims attending the mosque felt offended by the sign and have expressed shock on such act of indifference in the society.

However, nobody, as of now, has claimed responsibility for the signs.

Meanwhile, Police is investigating into the matter.

The local mosque is chronically short of parking spaces and the spillover is into the mall's parking lots. What that sign should say is "Parking for Mall Customers Only".

But that's not what it said, did it? So why make excuses?

Probably. What the sign said was illegal and wrong. Police are investigating.

But, to be honest, parking outside a lot of mosques at times of Juma and Eid prayers is usually chaotic and causes problems for others. The faithful should also be more considerate of others.

Nah they probably did, ironically I was having this conversation with one of my uncles who came to NY from Houston for eid because we were having a hard time finding parking as he was like in Houston anyone just parks anywhere and goes where they need to go. Like you can park in the mall and then go across the street to a starbucks or something.
