What's new

Mustafa Kamal, Raza Haroon Arrested Earlier In Peaceful Protest Against Sindh Government

  • Split region
  • Seperate Budget
  • Seperate Administration

A better ability for both regions to prosper side by side

  • Split based not on Ethnicity or language but on Administrative ease

Clealry presently there is no accountability of $$$ in PPP's hand

Karachi is for every Pakistani etc but from administration prespective we need to fix the mess PPP is creating

The province split should be not on Ethnic lines but rather , South / North Sindh designation
The lack of financial distribution of budget is a problem that needs to be fixed

  • Seperate budget for Sindh North
  • Seperate budget for Sindh South

This is a logical long term solution

The main thing is $$$$ is spent on regions !!!!!

No splitting needed. Only justified division of resources

No no it ok , Spliting is perfect , sometimes when region is too big it is hard to manage.

North Sindh
South Sindh

Seems very logical from administrative point of view , each region gets fixed budget $$$
And then the allocated budget is then assigned to develop City projects , equally.

There will still be Sindhi / Urdu Speakers/ Pathans / Punjabis/ Balouch living in both sindhs

The problem is "Administration" & Budget.

It will be healthy for region

  • North Sindh (Assume PPP manages it )
  • South Sindh (Assume PTI or PSP or MQM or PML coalition manages it or PPP )

Very simple two regions , 2 budgets , and 2 seperate administrations

Don't see a problem both regions get equal budget share or based on their Tax Collection figure

I think the demand is for access to $$$ and budget for their cities and region
Here is another map to distribute finances / budget

It is a bit hard to understand why the Mayor of Karachi is openly saying he is not given fund by PPP to run city or regions he is suppose to administer

larger provinces need to be split into smaller ones, this is the need of the hour, but our political parties have spmehow turned this into an ethnic issue, Sindh dharti is muqaddas, Balochistan is muqaddas, Punjab is muqaddas, KPK is muqaddas. Muqaddas nahi hai to good governance he nahi hai, baqi sab kuch muqaddas hai.

PPP govt in Sindh is far far more corrupt than any other provincial govt in Pakistan. And they get elected again and again by the same idiotic stupid people who think that vote is amanat of Bhutto, they get nothing in return and for that PPP has successfully poisoned their minds with stories of Punjab and Karachi stealing all of Sindh's money and resources so nothing is left for them, and since PPP is the messiah of Sindhis, they vote for them again.

If recently census done perfectly and honestly the days of ppp number now. Just need an alliance if PTI serious!
Karachi politics will get interesting with a weak mqm anything can happen in KHI

Na na na
Actually MQM get more stronger these Bhai log never bow down to third party for their community, Afaq is almost agreed with Sattar and PSP trying harder to get Mayor rights.
What I guesss all these three participate in election with different factions and in the end they alliance on united platform.

PSP will put a huge dent in mqm vote base i have a soft corner for Mustafa Kamal but he was also responsible for death ambulances
Karachi will get more seats in case of dhandli free census lets see who grabs em

KARACHI: The Sindh government in a crackdown against Pak Sarzameen Party on Sunday arrested its chief Mustafa Kamal and scores of party activists.

Other prominent leaders including Raza Haroon, Anees Kaimkhani and Dr Sagheer Ahmed were also reportedly taken into custody.

Clashes between the police and PSP workers broke out after the latter tried to march towards the Chief Minister House, breaching the red zone security.

In an effort to stop the rally from advancing further from the Aisha Bawany School, the police used water cannons, teargas shells and also opened aerial firing to disperse the participants.

Ending his sit-in outside the Karachi Press Club, the PSP chief had called for a ‘Million March’ to press the Sindh government to resolve the issues of the metropolis.

Speaking to the media on April 7, Mustafa Kamal had put forward 16 demands for the uplift of the city, vowing to continue his protest till they were met.

The PSP leaders held a meeting with a Pakistan Peoples Party delegation ahead of the rally, which ended without any consensus.

A PPP delegation including Murtaza Wahab, Rashid Rabbani and Waqar Mehdi met with PSP leaders— Raza Haroon, Dr Sagheer Ahmed, Aftab Iftikhar Alam, Muhammad Dilawar and Asif Memon.

Following the deadlock in negotiations, the Sindh government had imposed Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) in Karachi’s Red Zone hours before the rally was to commence.

In a press conference following the crackdown, PSP leaders Ashfaq Mangi and Asif Hasnain warned the Sindh government that the party activists would not go home till their leaders were released.

Speaking at the party headquarters, Pakistan House, Hasnain said that PSP’s peaceful rally was unduly attacked.

“Many of the children in the rally have gone missing,” the PSP leader told the media.

He asked the federal government to intervene and take appropriate steps to defuse the situation.

“Today was democracy’s funeral,” Ashfaq Mangi stated.

He went on to say that the party did not aim to breach the red zone security and was only trying to hold negotiations with the Sindh government.

Reactions

PPP leader Murtaza Wahab took to Twitter to clarify the Sindh government’s stance.

Attaching a copy of the no-objection certificate, the PPP leader stated that the PSP activists attempted to go beyond the permitted area which was unlawful.

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan condemned the shelling on PSP rally.

In a statement issued to media he said that such a severe reaction on purely a peaceful political gathering was beyond imagination.

Interior minister also condemned Mustafa Kamal and other senior leaders’ arrest.

He said Pakistani law allows holding of peaceful demonstrations for resolving issues.

Criticising the Sindh government he said the provincial government has started violence against the persons who demand the rights for Karachi.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Shah Mehmood Qureshi also strongly condemned the brutal use of force on “peaceful PSP rally for basic civil rights of the people of Karachi”.

This is democracy? Even Musharraf was less dictator than this civilian dictatorship of PMLN and PPP
Democracy? This is DemonCrazy not democracy and translation in of this DemonCrazy is Wadarah hukoomaat. We all are slaves of them and they are our masters. In next election, Sindhi's again vote them because Wadarah's are Sindhi's.

Time to move forward, we can't just look under the ground, when the folks inside city clearly are pointing fingers at lack of financing (Budget allocations) , and lack of accountability.

This unfortunately has been going on for some reasonable times

a) The strange qouta programs, I keep hearing about
b) The strange distribution of wealth where no one has any record of what funds were given
c) The constant struggle with Land record digitization
d) Taxation implication for region (Collect maximum , and return 0 benefits)
e) On going politicization of Police force , and turned into a security guard force

Even a blind person can see , there is issue of mismanagement of budget

Cure cann't happen unless we don't accept problem exist with Mismanagement of Provincial Budget and non allocation of budget , and it's been 4 years !!!! now

  • Where is the document detailing , what amount of Budget was allocated to Karachi Mayor in Last 4 years forget MQM or PSP or PTI , this is about abuse of budget fund allocation charges

  • The issue is not bhai log , or chacha log or Mama log , or Papa log

"Who has ever heard of a Metropolitan area where water comes in "Tankers" . You pay WAPDA for "no water" and then you pay Tankers who pull the same water which was suppose to come to you from WAPDA and sell it to you for second time. And garbage issue won't be solved becasue this is a unsolvable mystery"

If you are not spending $$$ sure you (PPP provincial government) must have surplus cash in Banks ? Can you at least let us know what surplus exist ??!!!

  • Spending bhi nahi ho rahi hai!(PPP provincial gov)
  • Bank main record bhi nahi hai!

Aek Road bane gi , and we will be told it ate all the funds!!! Wah ji wa

Now if the constituents won't go into road side protest then how can you blame them or anyone?

How long does it takes to give a financial report of accountability and management , to show where the $$$ was spent across province and what % funds went to Karachi and proof of transaction (that money was allocated and was given for mayor of city to run economic development projects)
