Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast has cautioned Muslim countries in the region against Israeli-hatched plots, insisting that Muslims are determined to stop Israel and liberate Palestine.
Iran has cautioned various Muslim countries in the region that differences among countries and Muslim groups will only serve the interests of enemies of Islam, and the illegitimate Israeli regime in particular, Mehmanparast told IRNA on Wednesday.
He called on regional countries to remain vigilant against Israeli plots and to discourage the regime from sowing discord among nations and Muslim groups.
Muslim countries should know that they can achieve their objectives only through unity and resistance, the spokesperson pointed out.
He further explained that the Islamic Republic's principled policy is based on following up the “very strategic issue of unity in the Muslim world” and emphasized that Iran has used all possible means to bring such unity.
Mehmanparast pointed to the recent Islamic Awakening in the Middle East and North Africa and stated that Muslims are firm to bar Israel from carrying out its activities and to release al-Quds (Jerusalem).
The developments in recent months were moves towards independence of regional countries, nations' participation in determining their destiny and cutting the dependence on big powers and Israel's allies, he went on to say.
The spokesman pointed out that Palestine is among “serious” issues in the Middle East, adding Israel, which has been supported by big powers, is currently witnessing the collapse of dictatorial regimes.
Mehmanparast noted that Israelis are faced with a very difficult situation and said, “Zionists are besieged by moves and popular revolutions on one hand while suffering dissatisfactions and internal social crises.”
