Bangalore phase 1 is originally estimated at 1.6 in 2006 if I remember rightly but due to some delay it raised .I think total cost raised ..your project cost may raise up to that I think

How many Kms of underground and overhead in phase 1 of Bangalore Metro ?

So basically 8.8 km of 44 km track is underground. Total Cost was $2.4 Billion

In Lahore 1.72 km of 27.1 km track will be cut and cover. Total Cost is $1.6 Billion

total cost estimated as on today is 4.5 billions

13.8 underground
or phase 3 is under discussion wait I will try to post its data ..it will be closest comparison we may get

Actually the other thing which raises costs is monetary value. Something which was built a couple of years ago must have been better.

9.Procurement of Twenty Seven(27) MRT train-sets, custom-taxes, insurance, and transportation to Lahore .

In addition to these train-sets, the Contractor may be required to add up to 50% more train-sets within 24 months from the date of Commissioning at the quoted rates.However, the cost of procurement, importation, transportation and commissioning of these
extra train-sets shall not be included in the final bid amount.

Somehow I doubt that the operation would turn enough profit to pay for itself. It may well be that Punjab's finances would be stretched to cover the cost, thereby creating serious criticism. But let us see.
