What's new

Meanwhile in Lahore

Bunch of confused but useful (for the foreign powers) fools doing their routine activity. After all, they have to "halal" the funding they receive from their foreign masters. They gather. Create a little fuss and then go back to their rat holes. Nothing major to be worried about. They don't have the guts that are required for bringing the kind of revolution they are talking about.

Common people. The environment brings new ideas and opinions. Nothing else.

These protests, and these people are a product of the environment created by this Government.

What will establishment do? Shoot commoners?

They started the mess, they have to endure it.
Common people and common students are more worried about their livelihoods and education respectively. They don't give a **** about the slogans raised by these privileged.

If Mullahs can hijack this country for three days and inflict billions of rupees of loss, why is some *** on fire by looking at kids exercising their right of assembly?

This is not Zia's Pakistan anymore and it will never be. Deal with it!

Doesn't matter. It's their right to do whatever they want in boundaries of the law. Ironically, the country's founder couldn't speak proper Urdu and was more western than Bilawal. So, again, deal with it!

In any case these students should speak about army involvement in politics, freedom of press, secularism etc Clearly religious bigotry and army intervention have made Pakistan in to hell hole.
These students speak exactly about it. There are other videos where they are demanding army to stay away from politics.

Sarfaroshi Ki Tamanna is a patriotic poem written in Urdu by Bismil Azimabadi of Patna in 1921, and then it was also immortalised by Ram Prasad Bismil as a freedom war cry during the British Raj period in India. It was first published in the journal Sabah, published from Delhi. It has no relevance with Faiz Festival.

Ok that sound stupid, Bhutto did that and Pakistan ended up like today. Still recovering from that. In any case these students should speak about army involvement in politics, freedom of press, secularism etc Clearly religious bigotry and army intervention have made Pakistan in to hell hole.
Students talk about these issues every day. What these wants are cults where you follow your cult blindly and fight with other groups.
My cousin who studied in Karachi has first hand seen the effects of political parties.

Hi,
Student unions are bodies within a college or a university which collectively represents student demands to university. The idea is to have a coherent voice from a platform which talks to administration for their rights or demands.
However student unions also train students on national issues hence have a political backing. Leftists always demand student unions because for a strong democracy, you need political training and awareness from grass root level.
Theoretically thats all good. In our context these bodies get hijacked and used by political parties and get extremely violent. I have heard of universities remaining closed for months and delaying of degrees was common when these unions were at their peak.

One of my father's colleague's only son was shot by stray fire during conflict between these unions in uet Taxila.

They already do actually. These kinds of students are the ones who have kept alive the cases of Naqeebullah Mehsud in universities. So, yeah, they do protest against police brutality.
