Hi after watching the picture can we assume these been only for delivering the REK load
As some more fighters were around to protect the convoy with their long range amrams Coz I can only see short range PL missiles if possible to answer can these REK be stationed in place of fuel tanks Any input will be appreciated

I really can't tell the two apart. In all the pictures I've seen of REK or IREK the only differences I could spot were:
1. Different length tail fins: In some pictures the fins are short and stubby, others long:

2. The fuse on the front but I think those are interchangeable anyway.

Then of course IREK could be an exact copy of FT-4. Also, we could've seen different versions of IREK as it evolves. So what made you say the one's pictured are not IREK? You want to tell us something we don't know?

I think it has more to do with which side the steering is rather than the heart.
It is always easier / more comfortable to turn the car on the passenger side, sitting on the opposite side your road view is much broader during the turn.

Anyone who thinks numbers don't matter is not fit to be on this forum. They need to learn the wisdom behind the concept of keeping "reserves".

Numbers allow you to generate a lot more sorties, they allow you to lengthen air battles, they allow you to open many new fronts, they Allow you to attack multiple targets, they allow you to absorb losses and still continue to fight at the same pace.

Addition of just two new squadrons during the war can make the difference.

This story is for those pakistanis and PAF officers who have claimed that extra aircraft like the J10's don't bring nothing new to the table---meaning extra numbers don't bring anything to the table---.

Here is an anecdote from the anals of history---.

Ertugrul with hios small tribe is heading back to his brother's larger tribe when they crested a hill---down in the valley was a battle going on amongst two armies and one army was seen being defeated---.

Ertugrul with his 200 horsemen jumped right into the frey helping the weaker side---later finds out that he had helped Seljuq Sultan Kaikobad fight against the mongols and the battle resulted in victory due to the extra numbers showing up at critical moment in the battle---.

So you kids would come and brag here what your Dad or Uncle or Older brother serving in Paf told you---.

Now you can go and shut their mouths and tell them---yes---extra aircraft bring a lot to the table---.



ارطغرل اپنے قبیلے کے چھوٹے سے حصے کے ساتھ رقہ واپس جا رہا تھا، وہ اپنے بڑے بھائی سے معذرت کر کے دوبارہ قائی قبیلے کا حصہ بننا چاہتا تھا، ماں حیمہ بھی اس کے ساتھ تھی، یہ لوگ جب کوس داگ (Kose Dag)کے قریب پہنچے تو پہاڑ کے نیچے خوف ناک جنگ چل رہی تھی، یہ لوگ رک کر جنگ دیکھنے لگے، ارطغرل کے دماغ میں اچانک کوئی خیال آیا، اس نے اپنے گھڑ سوار کو اشارہ کیا، خواتین اور بچوں کو پہاڑ پر چھوڑا اور یہ اپنے ساتھیوں کے ساتھ جنگ میں کود پڑا، جون کا مہینہ تھا، خوف ناک گرمی تھی۔

ارطغرل کے ساتھ صرف دو سو گھڑ سوار تھے لیکن یہ لوگ جب پہاڑ سے اترے اور دھول اڑی تو یوں محسوس ہوا جیسے ایک بہت بڑا لشکر اتر آیا ہے، یہ لوگ نیچے پہنچے توقائی گھڑ سواروں نے ارطغرل سے پوچھا، ہم نے کس کا ساتھ دینا ہے، ارطغرل نے قہقہہ لگا کر جواب دیا "مظلوم کا" آپ یہ جان کر حیران ہوں گے ارطغرل اور اس کے گھڑ سواروں کو اس وقت تک قطعی یہ علم نہیں تھا یہ جنگ کن کے درمیان ہو رہی ہے اور ان میں ظالم اور مظلوم کون ہیں؟ یہ لوگ بس بلاوجہ اس جنگ میں کود پڑے تھے اور دونوں لشکر انھیں اپنا ساتھی سمجھ رہے تھے۔

یہ لوگ میدان کے قریب پہنچ کر رکے، انھوں نے مظلوم کا اندازہ لگایا اور دوڑ کر اس کی طرف سے لڑنا شروع کر دیا، یہ تازہ دم تھے، ماہر تلوار باز اور بہادر تھے لہٰذا یہ لڑنے لگے تو مظلوم لشکر کو حوصلہ ہو گیا، اس کے اکھڑتے قدم جم گئے اور وہ جی جان سے لڑنے لگا یوں دیکھتے ہی دیکھتے جنگ کا پانسہ پلٹ گیا، ہارتا ہوا لشکر جیت گیا اور جیتی ہوئی فوج پسپا ہو گئی، جنگ ختم ہوئی تو ارطغرل کو پتا چلا اس نے سلجوق سلطان علاؤ الدین کیقباد کی مدد کی تھی، سلجوق سلطان منگولوں کے ساتھ لڑ رہا تھا، وہ یہ جنگ تقریباً ہار چکا تھا اور اناطولیہ (ارض روم) کی سلطنت اس کے ہاتھ سے نکل چکی تھی لیکن پھر اچانک ارطغرل غیبی مدد بن کر پہاڑ سے اترا اور اس نے اس کا ملک بچا لیا، علاؤ الدین سلجوق نے ارطغرل کو بلایا، اس کی کہانی سنی، اس کی جرات اور بہادری کی داد دی، اس کا ماتھا چوما اور اس سے پوچھا "مانگو جو مانگتے ہو، میں ابھی تمہیں دوں گا" ارطغرل کے پاس رہنے کے لیے جگہ نہیں تھی۔

اس نے اپنے قبیلے کے لیے جگہ مانگ لی، سلطان نے قہقہہ لگایا اور کہا "بس اتنی سی خواہش" ارطغرل نے جواب دیا "سلطان ہماری ضرورت اور اوقات اس سے زیادہ نہیں " سلطان نے میز پر نقشہ بچھایا، چاقو سے اس پر نشان لگایا اورصغوط کا علاقہ اسے دے دیا، صغوط کی وادی وسیع چراگاہوں، جنگلوں اور جھیلوں پر مشتمل تھی، دریائے سقاریہ اسے سیراب کرتا تھا اور یہ بازنطینی سرحد پر واقع تھی، بازنطینی ریاست کا بڑا شہر بورسا سو کلو میٹر کے فاصلے پر تھا، آپ نے ڈرامہ سیریز ارطغرل میں قراجہ حصار (Karacahisar)، ہانلی بازار، انگول (Inegol)، ازنیق(Iznik) اور بیلک (Bilecik) کا ذکر سنا ہوگا۔

یہ سارے شہر اور علاقے بازنطینی تھے اور یہ صغوط کے قریب واقع ہیں، سلطان علاؤ الدین نے یہ وادی ارطغرل کے حوالے کرنے کے بعد اسے بازنطینی شہر فتح کرنے کی اجازت بھی دے دی اور اسے اپنا مشیر خاص بھی بنا لیا، ارطغرل نے رقہ جانے کی بجائے اپنا قبیلہ لیا اور یہ دریائے سقاریہ کے ساتھ صغوط کی وادی میں آباد ہو گیا اور اس نے صغوط شہر آباد کرنا شروع کر دیا، قائی قبیلے کے لوگ مختلف ملکوں اور علاقوں سے آتے رہے اور اس کے ساتھ جڑتے رہے، آغوز قبائل کے مجبور اور مسکین بھی اس کے پاس آتے تھے اور وہ انھیں پناہ اور زمین دے دیتا تھا۔

ارطغرل کی کہانی صغوط میں پہنچ کر ختم ہو جاتی ہے، وہ حقیقت میں باقی زندگی اس علاقے سے باہر نہیں نکلا اور اس نے خود کو وادی تک محدود رکھا، ہانلی بازار، قراجہ حصار، انگول، ازنیق اور بیلک کو دراصل اس کے بیٹے عثمان غازی نے فتح کیا تھا، ارطغرل کے صرف دو کمال تھے، سلطان علاؤ الدین سے صغوط کی وادی حاصل کرنا اور اپنے تیسرے بیٹے عثمان کی تربیت کرنا، اس نے اپنی زندگی اپنے قبیلے اور اپنی نسل کی ٹریننگ کے لیے وقف کر دی تھی اور وہ یہ کام 1288 میں اپنے انتقال تک کرتا رہا، انتقال کے بعد اسے صغوط ہی میں دفن کر دیا گیا۔

ارطغرل کی قبر آج بھی صغوط شہر میں ہے، مجھے 2014ء میں اس کی قبر پر جانے کا موقع ملا تھا۔ اس دوران سلجوق کم زور ہو گئے، علاؤ الدین سلجوق کو زہر دے کر قتل کر دیا گیا، علاؤ الدین کے تین بیٹے تھے، تینوں تخت کے لیے لڑ پڑے، ریاست مزید کم زور ہو گئی، غیاث الدین سلجوق بادشاہ بنا، وہ آخر میں منگولوں کے ہاتھوں مارا گیا اور یوں سلجوق ریاست ختم ہو گئی جس کے بعد قائی قبیلے کے پاس دو آپشن بچے تھے، یہ بھی منگولوں کے ساتھ لڑ کر مر جاتے یا پھر یہ خاموشی کے ساتھ کوئی درمیانی راستہ نکالتے، ارطغرل کے تین بیٹے تھے، گوندوز، سارو باتو اور عثمان غازی، عثمان 1258 میں صغوط میں پیدا ہوا تھا، یہ بہت سمجھ دار اور بہادر تھا، اس نے قبیلے کی عنان سنبھالی اور منگولوں کو حقیقت مان لیا، منگول بازنطینی ریاست کو تاراج کر رہے تھے۔

بازنطینی قائی قبیلے کے دشمن بھی تھے چناں چہ عثمان غازی نے منگولوں کے ساتھ معاہدہ کر لیا کہ یہ منگولوں پر حملہ نہیں کریں گے اور منگول ان سے صغوط نہیں چھینیں گے اور مزید یہ بازنطینی ریاست پر حملے جاری رکھیں گے تاکہ منگول مشرقی یورپ پر اپنا قبضہ مضبوط رکھ سکیں، میں یہاں یہ بھی بتاتا چلوں منگول اس وقت تک مشرقی یورپ فتح کر چکے تھے، عثمان غازی کے پاس سرفروشوں کا ایک مضبوط دستہ تھا، اس دستے نے بازنطینیوں سے "یک شہر" چھین کر فتوحات کا نیا سلسلہ شروع کر دیا، یہ بعد ازاں ہانلی بازار اور قراجہ حصار پر بھی قابض ہو گئے۔

عثمان غازی کی دوبیویاں اورسات بیٹے تھے، اورخان عثمان کے تمام بچوں سے زیادہ ذہین اور بہادر تھا، وہ قائی لشکر میں شامل ہوا اور سپہ سالار بن گیا، عثمان غازی کی زندگی کی دو بڑی خواہشیں تھیں، ازنیق اور بورسا شہر فتح کرنا، یہ دونوں شہر سات سو سال پہلے بہت چھوٹے تھے لیکن یہ اس کے باوجود عثمان غازی کی زندگی کی معراج تھے، کیوں؟ کیوں کہ اس کے قبیلے کے پاس ایک نسل پہلے تک خیمے لگانے کے لیے بھی زمین نہیں تھی، صغوط شہر بھی ان لوگوں نے خود آباد کیا تھا اور یہ اس وقت تک ایک چھوٹا سا گاؤں تھا، اس میں قلعہ اور فصیل تک نہیں تھی چناں چہ عثمان کی خواہشوں کے گھوڑے ازنیق اور بورسا جیسے شہروں کے سامنے پہنچ کر رک جاتے تھے، اس کی سوچیں بھی اس سے آگے نہیں سوچ سکتی تھیں۔

اور خان اپنے والد سے عشق کرتا تھا چناں چہ اس نے اپنی زندگی والد کی خواہش کے لیے وقف کر دی، بورسا شہر 1326 میں فتح ہوگیا، عثمان غازی اس وقت تک بوڑھا ہو چکا تھا، وہ بیمار اور لاغر تھا، بیٹے نے بورسا کے مضافات میں والد کو گھوڑ سے اتارا، سامنے چنار کا ایک گھنا درخت تھا، اورخان نے والد کو درخت کے نیچے بٹھا دیا، عثمان غازی نے بیٹے کا ماتھا چوما اور وادی کو پیار سے دیکھ کر بولا "میری زندگی کی ساری خواہشیں پوری ہو گئی ہیں۔

اب میرے جانے کا وقت آ گیا ہے" بیٹے کی آنکھوں میں آنسو آ گئے، اس نے والد کا ہاتھ چوما، اپنے سپاہیوں کو بلایا اور اونچی آواز میں بولا "ہم آج سے عثمان غازی کے نام سے سلطنت عثمانیہ کی بنیاد رکھ رہے ہیں اور میں اس سلطنت کا پہلا شہری اور سپاہی ہوں " اس نے والد کا ہاتھ تھاما، بوسا دیا اور بیعت کر لی، سپاہی بھی قطار میں کھڑے ہوئے اور یا سلطان کہہ کر عثمان بن ارطغرل کی بیعت کرتے چلے گئے یوں سلطنت عثمانیہ کی بنیاد پڑ گئی، چنار کا وہ درخت آج تک بورسا کے مضافات میں موجود ہے، میں 2014 میں اس درخت کے نیچے بھی گیا اور میں نے بورسا شہر میں عثمان غازی اور اورخان کے مزار پر بھی حاضری دی، عثمان غازی بورسا کی فتح کے چند ماہ بعد انتقال کر گیا، اسے بورسا کی پہاڑی پر دفن کر دیا گیا اور وہ پہاڑی دو نسل بعد ارطغرل خاندان کا شاہی قبرستان بن گئی۔

عثمان غازی کے بعد اور خان نے عنان اقتدار سنبھالی اور کمال کر دیا لہٰذا ہم اگر کسی کو عثمانی سلطنت کا کریڈٹ دے سکتے ہیں تو وہ اورخان تھا، کیوں؟ کیوں کہ ارطغرل کا سفر صغوط پہنچ کر ختم ہو گیا تھا اور عثمان غازی کی خواہشوں کے گھوڑوں نے بورسا کے قلعے پر پہنچ کر دم توڑ دیا تھا لہٰذا خاندان کو اگر اورخان نہ ملتا تو قائی قبیلے کی کہانی 1326 میں بورسا پہنچ کر ختم ہو جاتی اور ہم آج خلافت عثمانیہ سے واقف ہوتے، قائی قبیلے اور نہ ارطغرل سے، وقت انھیں خاک کی طرح اناطولیہ کی فضا میں تحلیل کر چکا ہوتا اور ان کی داستان تک نہ ہوتی داستانوں میں! Jf17 has fuel limiting issues ..would be interesting to see if CFTs are feasible to get rid of the two fuel tanks it has to use.
Some say block 3 will have refined version of rd 93 and more fuel but that isnt confirmed

For the rumored JF17B(Wild Weasel type) it would be immensely helpful to have conformal fuel tanks. It would free up two hardpoints.

The two conformal fuel tanks plus the central fuel tank will give it long enough range to fly deep enough to protected Indian sites and carry out SEAD/DEAD. With only the central hardpoint utilized for a fuel tank...that leaves 6 hardpoints...
- the two wingtip ones can carry ELINT Pods(like that on J16D)
- 2 of the remaining 4 can carry MAR 1(or a Chinese ARM)
- the remaining two can carry air to air missiles for self defense(although I assume there will be escort aircraft in full air to air engagement configuration)
- the aesa radar can be optimized for EW.

In absence of conformal fuel tanks...it would be very difficult to find room to optimize JF17B for SEAD/DEAD type role...while also giving it enough range.

The J10 has already been inducted---BLK3 is years away---.

My dad died a long time ago---but our chinese friends did offer us 18 on the run---just like they had offered us the F7PG's---.

I am in favour of CFTs, tried to get any source or information in past for thandars, was unable to find. Do have any source or just your own wish like me.
Technically looking at thandars it's seem very difficult to have CFT considring it's air frame limitation and it will decrease its speed and increase RCS
