The Russian delegation took keen interest in the JFT.

ISLAMABAD: a four-member delegation led by Lieutenant General Viktor Nikolayevich Bondarev Commander-in-Chief, Russian Federation Air Force, visited Pakistan Aeronautical Complex, Kamra on Tuesday.
The Russian Federation Air Chief is on a four day visit to Pakistan Air Force on the invitation of Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt, Chief of the Air Staff.
The delegation was given a comprehensive briefing on the working of Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Board and its factories.
The delegation also visited various manufacturing and over hauling facilities of the aeronautical complex.
The visiting dignitaries took keen interest in the production capability of the JF-17 Co-production Project.
Pakistan Aeronautical Complex, Kamra has grown from strength to strength over the years. Being the leading Aviation Industry it has placed Pakistan amongst the elite group of countries that manufacture fighter aircraft.
Earlier, on their arrival, the delegation was received by Air Commodore Syed Nadeem Haider Jafri, acting Chairman Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Board, Kamra.-DNA

Note that 138 was also there during the PN visit, so possibly indicating it is the last aircraft in the production line.

Shouldn't there be 50 JFT's? This should indicate that the third squadron does not have enough aircraft...101-138 and one attrition. If one squadron has around 16...do the math.

It certainly seems that the project has hit some sort of snag, probably financial or diplomatic.

That certainly would be a bad news. Why are we perusing 16 Aircraft per Squadron. I thought apart from Vipers all our squadrons were equipped with 18 Aircrafts per Squadrons. Amazing things happening in PAF.

This was just a guess, maybe fatman or some other member can tell the specific number pers squadron.

at the moment both 16 and 26 sqdn's have 20 a/c each with one sqn acting as the OCU. in general PAF sqdns consist of 16 a/c each.

in the past the starfighter sqn was 12 a/c.
it all depends on availability of a/c.

That adds up to 41 aircraft made with one attrition...so 138 isn't the last one?

Is there a JFT serial number database anywhere on the forum or net? If not we should try for it.

based on the JFT project director's interview - the 42 a/c deal is complete. add the 8 SBP a/c from china, less one attrition, we should have 49 a/c.

As far as i know from some sources all 50 are made with one attrition.
If some body remember the farnbrough air show it was reported that the aircraft on static display is not having russian engine, it was a chinese version for confirm. ws-13 or ws-13a might be.

PAF is trying hard to have a chinese version of engine. May be will start blk 2 with chinese made engines only. They have more thrust approx 8-10%:flame:
