JF-17 Block-3 -- Updates, News & Discussion

What a year this has been with the army getting modern tanks to HQ-9 air defense system to Navy getting new Frigates and now Airforce getting J-10C along with our local hero JF-17 block 3.
Praise Allah who knows it all for all of this to happen despite our weaknesses and shortcomings.

...@Pakistan Space Agency, Now all is looking good, but you need to step up and send some satellites up there ;-) That's the only remaining sector where adversary is much ahead. ...

It's all about allocating enough funds.

SUPARCO's budget for the last 4 years:

2018/2019
Rs 4,700,000,000 = $40,657,509.79
($1 = Rs 115.5998 | 28 April 2018

2019/2020
Rs 6,033,245,000 = $38,342,590.77
($1 = Rs 157.351 | 25-June-2019)

2020/2021
Rs 4,693,757,000 = $28,534,604.71
($1 = Rs 164.4935 | 12 June 2020

2021/2022
Rs 7,368,000,000 = $47,280,456.00
($1 = Rs 155.836 | 11 June 2021)

This patch is intersting
Sticking 5 BVR with thunder
And two long range air to surface missles
Doubt thunder has the fuel to do such missions
Unless it gets CFT and decent engine

For BVRs yeah may be as it will have two fuel tanks

Looks like an unofficial fan made patch.

btw - we have see the PL-10 on JF17 Block III but never a PL15 - so will be interesting to see if we get them with them or not or if they are for J10Cs only..

Some times we miss the obvious. Look at tenders from HIT, VT4 is being locally assembled/manufactured including the main gun. Plus HIT is producing an active self protection suite for armored vehicles. Seems that initial production is for 70 VT4, which means only 30 were imported as CBUs. Basically this a transfer of technology and we will see that in Alkhalid II soon.
HIT is doing no assembly or manufacturing for VT-4 apart from the main gun, which is largely the same as the one for Al-Zarrar and Al-Khalid. They’re being bought directly from China. HIT is only producing AK-1 currently and upgrading Type 85s. AK-2 production will start once AK-1 deliveries are complete, it may share some technology from VT-4.

Go check the tenders. It’s dated December 10th and says Procurement of Components/Assemblies for Indigenous Manufacturing of Tank VT-4. Going by the list of items in the list, it suggests 70 Tanks. I will concede that most items listed are related to the gun but the title is not specific to guns.

Is there any thread specifically for SUPARCO and its projects ? .. However, True for bigger projects the budget allocations are needed. But still 47 million dollar / year should produce atleast something. All that man-power that comes at 08:00 and leaves at 04:00, what projects they are working on for last 3-4 decades. Unable to find anything on Suparco's portfolio which can justify 47 million dollars / annum. University students with half a million dollar fundings have made successful satellites. The kind of services / apps written on suparco website, for example GIS apps.. I have had built GIS application from Fiverr with most of the features in under 1000 USD. Space agency with a budget in millions needs to do much more. Yes it needs funding and perhaps overhaul of organisation & new management. Space is a new weaponized frontier. Every year lost in this domain is great loss for us.

if you know about Supraco projects, future project line, then kindly make a thread and enlighten us about it. I really want to know, whats it upto for decades. Will post my questions & replies there.

Cheers.

The budget has only significantly increased from 2017 onwards. Before then, the budget were around $7 million per year.

Pakistan Space Centre To Be Established
July 9, 2019

The government has decided to set up Pakistan Space center near Rawalpindi. The project envisages achieving self-reliance in indigenous development, manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing of different types of satellites. Pakistan Space and Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) has prepared the project at a cost of Rs 26.998 billion including Foreign Exchange Component (FEC) of Rs 19.588 billion. The Finances of the project will be managed by a soft loan of $148.24 million from china which will cover 85% of the cost while the remaining 15% will be provided by government of Pakistan. The expected time for completion of the project is 40 months. Rs 1 billion has been allocated for the project in the next financial year 2018-19

It was previously suggested that the space center be built near Kamra to make sharing of resources and capabilities possible between the two facilities. But later it was decided that this facility will be established with a proper commercial outlook completely separate from military dominion. The objective of PSC will be to build satellites for other countries/clients in the future and it might be difficult to bid internationally for commercial work through an entity managed by the military.

Prime Minister approved the project for the establishment of PSC as part of National Space Programme (NSP) 2027 during 27th National Command Authority (NCA) meeting held on December 21, 2017. A detailed satellite development facility having a total covered area of approximately 412,356 sqft has been proposed at Chakri (Rawalpindi District), Punjab to meet the requirement of indigenous development production of various types of satellites. Without this facility, Pakistan will not have any option but to procure a satellite from foreign manufacturers, thus, spending a huge amount of foreign exchange and solely rely on foreign countries. Detailed technical building/facility design will be undertaken by Chinese experts on finalization of the contract

A major portion of the facility will consist of clean room of standard 100,000 class(meaning that thee room will have less than one hundred thousand particles larger than 0.5 microns in each cubic foot of air space) with a small portion of clean room of standard 10,000 class. It will have specialized stores with controlled environment (i.e. temperature, relative humidity and cleanliness) for long term storage of screened components as well as manufactured equipment and also complete satellites

(The website no longer publishes article)

The thing is, SUPARCO is ran by the military and it's involved in Pakistan's nuclear weapons program and ballistic missiles programs. They're too secretive and you just won't get much information from them.

Except for a few communication satellites and weather related activities for civilian use, most other stuff isn't being made public.

Previously, the then Science and Technology Minister Fawad Chaudry said in 2019 that first Pakistani astronaut will be sent to space in 2022 (presumably on Chinese rocket). However, we've not heard anything other than this announcement.

Last year, SUPARCO's chief said, Pakistan is working on a lunar orbiter (or lander), yet we've not heard anything else since then.

Yes of course very excited about tomorrow been waiting for a long time I hope my dream come true so eager to see JF17THUNDER BLK 3.
Great love for my country of origin Pakistan.
