JF-17 Block-3 -- Updates, News & Discussion

Its the TK-31 by AVIC.

Sadly, we're not gettin' 'em according to PAF.
The TK-31 is the PLAAF's regular standard issue helmet (like HGU-55/P is the PAF's), this HMD/S on the J-20 is a different product (possibly a prototype at this point or in low-rate production).

From the brochures I've seen on East Pendulum, it seems AVIC just calls its HMD products 'HMD 1' and 'HMD 2'. @Deino any thoughts?

You know what would be interesting though? If AVIC figured out a way to make HMD/S modules that can fit directly to the HGU-55/P (ala JHMCS/2 and Elbit Targo).

Is this a fake video on Pakistani IRST pod?

Image of the article from Jane's International Defence Review 6/1998 was not taken from the magazine. Various parts were visibly pasted to create the image.

Please confirm it after consulting July 1998 Jane's International Defence Review.

Stupid cancer video, comparing IRST equaling it to EOTS of F-35

So it depends on how capable is flir vs irst if the flir is made into IRST capability ie flir on a pod like aselpod is as capable as IRST it can provide benefits

PIRATE (Passive InfraRed Airborne Track Equipment) is the FLIR/IRST for Eurofighter

Lastly

Interesting

In fact, it is basically an internal version of Sniper XR pod which entered service in 2006, and has low resolution and detection range when compared to the Legion pod. From Sniper XR demo, it appears that identification range is 24 kilometers against fighter aircraft, though the aircraft in question was on the ground, and 45 kilometers against an airborne business jet, showing ID performance at most comparable to PIRATE.

He is talking about IRST pod that was used back in 1990s and are no longer in use. But ofcourse you have to spice it up by saying Pakistan is the only Muslim country to possess alien technology.
