JF-17 Block-3 -- Updates, News & Discussion

That is a distinct possibility for the hdms; they could do a hybrid solution. I may not be surprised it that is what may happen especially when they have slated for a 5th gen high off bore VVR such as A-Darter.
PAF is good at surprises tho !!

Super cruise?
No afterburner on takeoff, unlike previous blocks?

Shaheen bhai, pls have a look at some jf-17 take-off and landing video in HD on youtube, may I suggest "PAC/Chengdu JF-17 Thunder Flies over Paris Air Show 2015 – AINtv Express"

Seems flaps can be extended both for take-off and landing, but their function in take-off is to reduce take-off distance, why would a pilot do that on a test flight? While their function in landing is lower landing speed (more safe) and better nose control (so pilot can see runway better), this is more in line with a test flight. In airshows they want to do spectacular take-off (need more lift) so they will likely do a longer role (distance) and then take-off without using flaps by just pushing the nose up using the back thingies (i think they are called ailerons - pitch controllers).
