JF-17 Block-3 -- Updates, News & Discussion

Well, downplaying it ensured IAF did not rush to acquire Rafales earlier and in bigger numbers nor they expanded their Su-30 fleet further neither they seriously bothered to replace their outdated light--weight aircraft with the LCA Flying Rickshaws.

IAF snoozed this decade and PAF has somewhat made up for the lost decade of the 1990s.
They are getting Mig 29s though

Now every one who wished an F-22 is saying “Mein ne to kaha tha kuch changes nai hongi, bla bla “

:lol::lol:

My fellow Pakistanis, Congrats to all of us very much and Salute to our dedicated PAF/PAC workers, chiefs, assistants, engineers, and every smallest role for doing this incredible job, giving us something to be proud of and thankful to God.

Everywhere we see hopelessness but our Beloved PAF and PAC never disappoints !!!

A round of applause for our Air force and CAC and China for standing with us far more than we deserve realistically !!!

Well, as more images surface, we can make better judgements. Yea, illusion is not something uncommon to a human
you might be careful the eagle might be ban you again from you irrelevant post above an as for nose may be it the effect of lighter colors, lighter color make thinks bigger/longer than darker color???

If i derail the topic then i deserve to get banned !!!

He is doing his work perfectly, nothing wrong with that.

The jet feels bulky but let’s wait for the painted one. Then only, we will get to see the reality surrounding the bulkiness.

@The Eagle What is you OPINION on the engine ?

@Dazzler is convinced that Engine on block-3 is WS-13E

In my humble opinion, our marketing strategies of the Thunder had no bearing on the IAF's acquisition strategy and timetable. Whatever we said or did not in our marketing drive affected our sales and nothing else.

Look at it from this way, if we hadn't been selling the Thunder and not marketing it, wouldn't the IAF still have formed an opinion or attained information about it? Are they subject to our marketing jargon?

The following is the Advanced Concept Cockpit that was shown in 2016, which could form the foundation of Block III if the HUD is the same( i know a big Jump there, but lets roll with it, since there was talk of it adopting a single large MFD which is the trend these days even for trainers like the Advance Hawk )

If the aircraft has a 3 axis FBW now, does it mean that the PAF has adopted a side stick controller for the Block III ?

Given that the JF17 is an exported oriented project for both PAC / CATC, we should see some sales literature of the new specs, and views of the cockpit itself very soon!

The unveiling of Block III has begun. A joy for some, a dissappoint for other i am sure, but whatever it is, it is progress to the next stage, and that should be welcomed!

Is it operational? What is a difference between RD 93MA and WS 13E?
No, its specially designed to replace RD-93 on JF-17 but we tested WS-13 few years back i thinks it was in 2015 Paris airshow but PAF had not satisfied the performance of WS-13 in 2015 and WS-13E is the improved version of WS-13,

@StormBreaker @seven0seven
Both RD-93MA and WS-13 have FADEC.
What I am a bit circumspect about is that we still have loads of RD-93 in store ... maybe we would contunue to use them before going to the next level. I think the PAF has also stated that they are quite happy with RD-93 and it's reliability.
Yes i already hear this too but remember bro its Improve version of WS-13 and may be PAF now satisfied the performance of WS-13E, but @Dazzler sir quite convinced his is a WS-13E and there is no news on RD-93MA

PAF committed made a sinful error in marketing the Thunder by calling it a very potent cheaper solution. The term cheap and it's variations should not have been used. Instead the term "Cost Effective" should have been coined.

And we send our pilots for marketing with no marketing team
