Japan to Build Modern Mass Transit System in Karachi

Hopefully. After Japan diverted its loan to Dhaka's mass transit system, there was a sense of urgency from our side. The PM did actually meet with Japanese and i guess those business links came into handy.... Still lots of work needs to be done by Sind Govt alone. First it needs to take care of law and order and secondly, they need to cooperate with Railway Department on encroachments.

complete BS, the nawaz is not doing anything, he is just making the metro system in rawalpindi

as a matter of fact only the governor is trying hard to bring JICA to invest in Karachi

Governor ? WTF what right does he have on infrastructure development ? You are only saying cuz he is from MQM

Where was your MQM and your Mayor Mustafah Kamal in all those years in power, starting from Musharraf days ?

.
MQM is not the one ruling this country idiot guy

Idiot its running Karachi, ganjas are not ruling Karachi. Also no matter how corrupt ganjas are, they get the job done while bhatta khor party is only good at terrorising citizens.

The day Karachis walas stop voting for that ethinic party is the day they will get some peace.

these are all the plans right from the mustafa kamal period the first KCR maps and plans came under him, and governor has done many meetings with JICA< you can look for online records for it

and yes this has been under the pipeline long before even ganja became PM

ganja is not interested in Karachi he only love Punjab province where PMLN is ruling thats why he is financing metro bus in rawalpindi, he has totally abandoned Karachi

What plans ? Oye Bhai the KCR that was running in the 80s is the same plan. And when your MQM took over the city back in the day, it got closed down.

The so called meetings were only chai pani. Nothing significant

MQM bhattha khor traitors are running Karachi not ganjas. Lahore will get modern transit system before Karachi. karachi has become hell hole, no peace at all.

Had there been Pervez Musharraf and Syed Mustafa Kamal; Karachiites would already be riding the KCR.

Considering the fear that PTI has created with a positive buzz about it's govt. in KPK; Ganja (NS) and Very Old Ganja (Qaim Ali Shah) both will be more than willing to show some efficiency and progress. There is more hope now that it will be built this time.

Thar Coal's open pit mining was first of those ventures, in which both parties (PML-N & PPP) were on the same page. PTI has already decided for a Rail Based Mass Transit System for Peshawar; the adverts are out. It would be really nice if it becomes a race between Karachi and Peshawar! who will deliver Metro-Rail first? After all putting all these parties in charge of one province each probably was not that bad an idea. It may actually lead to some progress.

PPP has ruined Pakistan in last 5 years, look how much its happening in last 8 months in terms of development. While PPP leaders were busy taking Pakistani poor's money out of country.

But, I think that they want at least one province for themselves to plunder - the easiest one is Sindh. They will and are playing Sindh Card now (Sindh Festival) - and like Ganja Brothers they will try to build at least one 'Jangla Bus' (or Train) to show something to the people of Sindh; and as their constituency is in interior Sindh - there is likely some progress or PPP will be gone even from Sindh assembly in next elections. This is just my idea.

Thar Coal had been discovered for quite some time. I had always thought why are they waiting for the 'Coal-Gasification' project to come into operation first. Why the hell do they not start open pit mining? Something made them think to at least start that and I think that - that something is PTI, a third political force on the horizon, with a probability of more coming - Pakistan Awami Tehreek, for example. Now, the formula of this is your turn, next will be mine may be out of fashion.

PTI will only work as long as Imran Khan is leading them. IK is only non-corupt and nationalist Pakistani politician even if many don't agree with his taliban policy. IK is perfect leader to rule Pakistan if we can get rid of terrorists.

Nobody stopped you for better bus projects, monorail system. You were in the government with every ruling party.:)

we were not in the transport ministry, we didn't have the authority, we didn;t have the local government, MQM did what ever it could and what ever is happening is also because of MQM's forcing things to happen

@cb4 see this

Federal govt only need to give sovereign guarantee to pursue mass transit

Its sad to see that that after 15 cities in India are getting a rapid transit system and are under construction, Pakistan is yet only in planning. I hope this system runs before 2035.

because they have problems that we dont have. terrorists talibans insurgency we do have them as well but may be 10% of it. so we can spend on infra they cant
