This argument seems to be leading nowhere. The ruling AKP is admant in Turkey to obtain an apology while Israel is admant on their stand. If at all there has to be some sort of reconciliation, both the sides must be willing to give away something for each other.

However, I would agree with Jigs here that Turkish government should make it a point to pressure Iranian regime also for the shootout. Turkey has become a respected nation in the region and hence its ruling party must not undo that respect by using two-sided games.

That could dash his agenda of not only removing the military's pro-Western influence from government but putting his country on an illiberal Islamist course. Doubtless his attempts to get Israel to apologize will become more and more desperate, and the prizes he will offer to Israel to do so go even higher. This incident has absolutely nothing to do with what happened in the 1920s. It's very simple. Israel preemptively attacks a Turkish flotilla with civilians and is demanding an apology.

I remember now and i commented back saying what would happen. Doing something that is going to lead to more lives lost is not a option. Alternatively one of the Arab nations can always give your idea another try and hope it doesn't turn out like last time. Honestly Muhammad almost all your ideas hold no value in Turkey.
