Is religion curse to SE Asia

I am talking about abuse of religion.
Let me elaborate the example I gave in original post.
People often use loudspeaker when their is a religious festival.
what I find surprising in India is most of the time these loudspeakers are playing bollywood songs, there is no respect for people right.
Now if someone approach the people playing the loudspeaker and say, can you reduce the volume please? 90% of the time it will be taken as offense and you will be termed nonreligious, worst iif you belong to other religion, it can start a riot too.
How many people know that 90% of religious riots in India started with something as simple as this one.
Now what do you call this, does any religion teaches you to be intolerant and fight with others, I do not think so. In fact religion tells you to be polite and respectful to others and we do the opposite.

Mr you are right but then again it shows the fault is of ppl not of the religion

This is what I found about second marriage and it says that if family is established, couple have childern than a second mariage would be detrimantle to the family and therefor should not be allowed, end of story. And in my openion is real Islam.

Wife's Permission for Second Marriage

Question

If a couple is married and has three children, the husband and wife like each other and the husband now wants to marry another woman, is it compulsory for the husband to get permission from her wife for second marriage or can he do this without the consent of first wife and marry the second woman in a hidden way. He does not want to divorce the first wife and wants to keep both in his home. Please tell me about the permission of first wife in accordance with Quran and the Sunnah.
Response

Firstly, I must let you know that the entire concept of a Nikah1 is that it is not 'hidden'. A Nikah must be announced in the society the person is living in. Therefore, I believe it would be wrong to take a second wife in marriage without the first wife and/or the children knowing about it. This is in addition to the social circle of both the persons getting married.

Secondly, with respect to the permission of the first wife, there are two different but related issues. First is whether the Shari'ah has imposed any additional requirements specific to a second marriage. Both Quran and the Sunnah are devoid of any additional requirements and, therefore, as far as the Shariah is concerned the second marriage can be undertaken without an explicit permission from the first wife. The second issue would be that of the law of the land where the person is residing. It is possible that the law of that particular region does not allow second marriage or requires the permission of the first wife for second marriage. Such a law would, then, have to be followed even though it may have no jurisdiction in the Shari'ah.

Thirdly, I must add that if second marriage will imbalance the first marriage and the family structure that is already established, then one must not believe that they have a free right of undertaking the second marriage. Islam has not given the permission to take multiple marriages so that the family structure is destroyed. In fact, it has done the same in order to protect the families! Therefore, if a second marriage is undertaken that adversely affects one's first marriage and the children, then Islam does not condone it. This is also evident from the way Quran has allowed permission for marriage for instance. In the context of widows, where widows are the weak party, Quran has allowed a second marriage in order to protect them - the weak. However, with respect to the rights of the wives, Quran has recommended that one may marry only one if they will be unable to fulfill the rights of all of them, once again protecting one's existing wife, which is the weak party in this case.

Do not know how many times, I have to clarify that I am pointing on implementation not the religion. Implementation is done by people not religion.

Also did you read my original post, I have mentioned that how religious teachers distort the religion.

ok ok ok why are you getting so emotional.and yes problem is in Implementation and also religious teachers(mullas in case of ISLAM)not only distort but also promote violence among different sects of same religion(at least that's the case in ISLAM).The only way to is to study religion yourself and although take guidance from religious teachers but do not depend upon them completely and use your own brain.

The reason I am posting so much is because this thread has a potential of converting into flaming at each others religion.
Please do not discuss problems in religion in this thread, it is the what we are discussing.
Please be respectful for other religions and only discuss
how religion is distorted, we are doing the opposite of what religion says and still say we follow religion. (This is the message).
In that sense we are hurting the region and hence religion is a curse to this Area.

Religion was meant for good.....
In our societies now; it's a curse.

It's a curse for the whole world. Doesn't matter where, and which religion.

Great Video.:)

I am not against religion, I just feel most of us does not understand what it is all about. As I understand the main idea behind religion was to impart moral values to the society and bring unity within people. Religion preaches people to love each other, be truthful, contribute to society, have respect for others etc. In addition some religion gives examples of how one should perform common functions of life. So basically objective of religion is to make you well behaved citizen.

Interesting thought but that is exactly where contention begins.
Religion to me is to not ONLY to ensure morals etc.

Religion is to ensure supremacy of GOD, and to install the correct
relationship between CREATOR and CREATED.

If we acknowledge that this world was made by God, and that We are made by God, then we owe our existence to making sure that
we remain subservient to the will of God, and ensure that God's will,
and ONLY God's will is prevalent on earth.

If you look at SE from this point of view, Religion becomes less of curse and more of blessing.
Cursed are the PEOPLE who will use God's word for their own benefit.

Maybe India should ban all religions ...

We would be a better nation if we did.

Okay, enough of my extremist atheist meanderings.

My personal view is that a person who is overtly religious, or rather whose religion influences his daily decisions has no business holding any post of importance. Keep religion personal, don't make it public.

I feel Religion helps the person or society to lead a life in a peaceful and correct way. If you observe the preachings of any religion i am sure it can address any problems and situations which are occurring in one's life or society.
But as far as south Asia is concerned it is a mix of lot of cultures and religions to achieve peace and harmony in this region especially India secularism is the way forward .

I will like to know thoughts of members about abuse of religion. I have thrown some points.
I feel religion should be something followed privatly. While it's great to feel good about our religion, it is bad to compare others based on what religion they follow.
Some people have taken religion everywhere and they form groups in school, college and office based on religion.
What you feel about it. Will it not create divide in office? We talk about racism in west, but I feel we are the biggest racist. We first diffrentiate by religion, then caste then sect and what not.

Its just the lack of intelligence of human beings in general that they need fear of a god to live a proper life, and that's just universal and not limited to SE Asia. Along with the fear of that god comes a collection of poetry referred to as the holy book which is 'open to interpretation' and can be bent and twisted as per one's fancies .. evil or not is thus 'open to interpretation' as well

Maybe India should ban all religions ...

India didn't ban Mary had a little lamb or the three pigs, why ban all the other poetry and stories that was written ages back ?

It is not the massage but those who interpret after the oroginal deliverer are the culprits and they shoud be banned.

simply Religion is and was made for man and not the other way arround, therefore inrterpretation has to be thoughtfully done. based on above. This was the God's interntion.

Who can do it, it is simple, in all times humanity Have come across people who were brilliant and good people, those are the one to be asked to interpret.

For instance Isam was interpreted better by Baba Bhuley and Baba freed than by those so called mullahs.

Now what exactly is happening in this region is religion is used in a way it was not meant to be used. The majority of people who are following religion does not really understand it. The people responsible to impart religious training to society often twist to serve their political goal.

You just figured this out today!!!!

How was US created?

How was India and Pakistan form?

The importance of Religion is everywhere. The Islamic Republic of Pakistan!!!! In God We trust!!!! Hindustan!!!!!! (sorry I could have done better, but it is late here).

Tell me where Religion is not involved in these statements.

PS. now I sound like my third grade teacher!!!
