How do you know this ship wasn't smuggling fuel out of Iran and actually Indonesia was doing Iran a favour? It doesn't make sense for an official shipment of Iranian fuel being transferred in such a shady manner.

Since Indonesia seized known Iranian VLCC "Arman 114" tanker with cargo of light crude oil. This "Arman 114" tanker is knows as tanker that early was used by Iran for transporting oil for Syria etc.

That still doesn't answer why the ship was transferring fuel like that and not responding. Does that also necessarily rule out it being used by smugglers or was it a ship under lock and key by the government?

It's answer, since this tanker was with cargo of light oil, not fuel. The ship-to-ship transfer of Iranian oil off the coast of Malaysia and Indonesia from Iranian tankers to tankers owned by Chinese companies is a well-known way for Chinese oil traders to circumvent US sanctions. Such oil, when delivered to Chinese ports, is officially declared in customs documents as Malaysian oil. In recent years, it has become funny that China officially imports more "Malaysian" oil than Malaysia produces it :)

Iran siezed one tanker about one week ago. Probably Its iran respond to this

I think that was a cargo ship, not an oil tanker if I'm not mistaken. So far the stolen Iranian oil is still on the ship off the coast of Texas and IRGC have warned of a response if it is offloaded. So we would have to wait and see.

That doesn't answer why it didn't respond to calls by the Indonesian coast guard, because if, as you say, this sort of transfer happens often then more ships would have been confiscated. But the fact this isn't the case would indicate there is an understanding, or an open line of communication, between Iranian ships and Indonesia.

So how come China just doesn't come and take the oil itself from Iranian port? Is it scared of sanctions, because I cant see US or anyone seizing a Chinese flagged tanker, or are they simply sharing the shipping costs with Iran by meeting half-way?
