Iran’s state-run TV was forced to cancel two polls after the majority of voting came against the policy of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

The first poll, launched by Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB, was about how the Iranians regarded a possible halt in the uranium enrichment operations, which would accordingly halt the whole nuclear project in the country, in return for stopping the international economic sanctions imposed against Tehran.

But the gambit turned into a spectacular own goal after two days of voting when IRIB’s news channel screened results showing 63% of respondents in favor of suspending uranium enrichment in exchange for the gradual easing of sanctions.

The TV quickly stopped the poll and replaced it with one seeking viewers’ opinions on an Iranian parliament proposal to close the Strait of Hormuz, a strategically vital waterway in the Arabian Gulf that is the passageway for about one-fifth of the world’s oil supplies.

But that too appeared to backfire when 89% of respondents opposed closing the strait. It was subsequently replaced by another survey about the popular Iranian football club, Persepolis.

Tehran has been threatening to block shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, in response to increasingly harsh sanctions by the United States and its allies aimed at forcing it to curb its nuclear research program.

The United States and its allies accuse Iran of using its nuclear program to covertly develop all the components required to produce nuclear weapons, accusations the Iranian officials have repeatedly denied.

The world’s No. 5 oil exporter maintains that it is enriching uranium for nuclear fuel only to generate more energy for a rapidly growing population.

The Iranians themselves are fed up with the expantioninst policies of their own govt. The Iranian Majusi mullahs believe that they will do anything and nothing will happen to them because as per the prophecy the Mahdi (RA) will return and spread Shiaism (Not Islam, which belongs to the majority sunni muslims which upholds and follow true path of the Prophet[PBUH]).

Just need a little bit of help and the majority of Persians will fight for the freedom and a good number of them will return to the fold of Islam.

Those Mullahs are driving the whole region to it's doom. I hope Iranians do sth, before it is late.

I'm literally on the ground right now I'm laughing so hard at you two.

In Iran we call the mullahs arabs. They've been advertising about how arabs are so amazing and how arabs are this and that and you two Einsteins are saying that if mullahs are kicked out "persians" will go back to Islam and **** like that.

If mullahs are gone, Iranians will go back to the good ol' mindset of the Pahlavi era when you guys were called every name under the sun by the officials themselves. The only difference is that this time the number of liberals in the country would be much largers as literacy among the under 30-40 pop'n is at almost 100%.

It's these very old timers and mullahs that are actually working hard to advertise arabs and their culture in Iran. Without them, Iranians wouldn't give a toss about you guys. They would even work with the devil himself if it meant Arabs would live in misery.

In any case, as I said, in iran we call mullahs "arabs." To us they are no different than you guys. Same people, same culture, same mindset, same everything. Love the sheer ignorance.

I see...
Does that mean you are still ruled by Arabs?
On topic, its good to see that the majority of Iranians are smarter than their Arab rulers.

So the choice is between the haraami kaum liberal kaffir and the shia clergy.

Hmmm

There are many faithfull muslims in iran, we shouldnt reject them its up to god to decide who a true muslim is

But thd liberal kaffir types are a threat to us all, the winds of change are blowing through the muslim world the days of the old secular dictators are numbered

It is a slow change but the muslim world will awaken, there 1.6 billion muslims in the world estimated to be 2.2 billion by 2030 iran is a important part of our future

Iran, Turkey, and perhaps Lebanon, Jordan will probably be athiest or non practising in a few decades. Can stop the trend.

mulisms can be judged by their practice and performance of the religion and can tell if a person is muslim or not.
he is not judging rather than telling a fact. :pop:

Source to this statement and how many decades exactly?? Or is this just bull **** which I'm guessing it is.

No he was judging, stop covering for him rather you should be telling him how Muslims should not be judging other Muslims leave that for qiamat and Allah (swt) will be the judge.

. .
Makes sense, for all the rhetoric of the regime...most Iranians I've met are fairly pragmatic.

.
how can you judge a fact :disagree:

The minute you start saying who is a Muslim and who is not you are committing a grave sin. You guys are trying to play the role of God and we all know none of you have that authority surely Allah (swt) will decide who is right and wrong but he will also punish those who tried to make the decision for him.

this is no judging. we are simply telling people and muslims that our religion has been hijacked and misinterpreted so people won't get confused b/w shiasm and Islam.
