Iran Starts 60% Uranium Enrichment

need over 95% for weapons grade uranium. none the less this is big jump from 20% to 60%.
The most energy and time consuming part of uranium enrichment is from 0.711% to 3.5%. After reaching HALEU (20%), you have already done 85% of the job for acquiring 99% enriched uranium. Going to 60% means that Iran has already done over 90% of the job for acquiring nuclear grade uranium.

So, although it seems that 20% to 60% is a huge step, it's basically not that significant. It's rather a political move, proving Iran's willingness to break the taboo of uranium enrichment.

until there are multiple declared nuclear tests, they will keep pestering you. so gotta test.

It wasn't for building centrifuges. It was for assembling centrifuges. Building and assembling are different things.

You need to stop making claims without proof.

A spokesman for Iran’s nuclear agency, Behrouz Kamalvandi, said Sunday that work had begun on the center in 2013 and it was inaugurated in 2018.

“More advanced centrifuge machines were intended to be built there,” he said, adding that the damage would “possibly cause a delay in development and production of advanced centrifuge machines in the medium term.”

So, it seems plausible that they were using it as a storage. Every facility at Natanz is under the 24/7 IAEA surveillance and supervision..

“seems plausible” is your opinion, not a fact nor reality.

The workshop needs to be a sterile dust free environment (that is why you see scientists with masks and hairnets and gloves in sensitive areas of natanz). Bringing in any significant amount of centrifuges to store defeats the whole purpose of the workshop and risks outside contamination.

If you would like to continue debating without any evidence to support your claim other than your opinion, then I will have to stop this discussion. If you have evidence supporting your claims please present them.

Fair enough.
The explosion may have destroyed any contents of what must be a large storeroom for sensitive centrifuge components and many rotor assemblies; the latter would await deployment in enrichment plants. Overall, this event is a significant setback for the Iranian advanced gas centrifuge production and operations effort.

A caveat is that Iran had disassembled and stored approximately 1000 IR-2m centrifuges prior to 2016 as a result of the JCPOA, and it may have hidden an undetermined, but possibly equal, number of IR-2m centrifuges in various states of production. The 1000 centrifuges were stored at the Natanz FEP and could be redeployed at the Natanz or Fordow FEPs, following a set of actions, requiring skilled workmen, but not requiring the equipment or expertise in the ICAC. Nevertheless, the current status of these IR-2m centrifuges is unknown, as well as any plans for their redeployment.

Even after that they will keep fighting back. They see Iran as an existential threat. It's not like they're going to give up. But we're only moving forward.
agreed. but intensity of their fight back goes down 10 folds once you are a declared nuclear weapons state and they start treading very carefully...trust, we speak from experience.

I applaud you posting a link supporting your claim. It allows for a lively debate.

Unfortunately my source is from the spokesman of Iran’s nuclear agency and yours is mere conjecture from David Albright a known Zionist and “hater” on Iranian nuclear achievements.

His theory that maybe 1000 IR-2M were in there hasn’t been confirmed by any Iranians (to my knowledge) and also doesn’t answer where the 10,000 or so other centrifuges are.

IR-2M up to IR-5 can be mass produced by Iran due to the lower grade of carbon fiber needed. It’s the more advanced centrifuges that are difficult to mass produce.

Also responding to your other claim about IR-9 being to big for military base. If above ground or built in mountain facility it can work. But nonetheless there are 3 variants of IR-9. Only one is that long (tall).

Frankly, this is pure BS. No country which has the capability to develop nukes does it by announcing it to the world via twitter or other media. Iran's nuclear program is as good as a bald guy trying to get a hair-transplant. A so called program which Israel and US keep attacking and shutting down via cyber attacks, killing its so called nuclear scientists in broad day light is frankly a joke and nothing more.

Thank you for your stunning analysis, Let's pack our bags everyone. The nuclear mission is over.

You never had mission except for some twitter posts. You should have packed those bags 2-decades ago.

IQ! If its non existing then Why are you here? I tell you why. Burned behind. Go cry somewhere else!

Yes I know you have problems with your IQ. What else is new dude? ..... Having a 'Program'is nothing. Even Ethopia has a space program and launched a satellite. Does this mean they are some major power?? Except for twitter posts, is there any evidence of Iran having a successful program?? The sanctions from US are more to control Iran rather than a program which is basic in nature. You need to study geography a bit more, and see location of Iran to see why US is doing this.

Now, I am here because it is free forum, its a Pakistan Forum not some Iranian, and people can post opinions, and correct disillusion people along the way. I hope it helps you with your IQ. Good luck.
