Key Points
  • Satellite imagery analysis conducted by Jane’s has revealed the ongoing development of Iran’s Shahrud missile test complex, where in the past year rocket engine tests have occurred and a possible missile base is under construction.
  • Although no missile tests had been conducted from the Shahrud complex by late 2017, the launch pad and support facilities appear fully operational and are likely capable of hosting a solid-fuelled missile test at any time.
  • Iran is also advancing its liquid-fuelled rockets, having conducted two significant tests from the Imam Khomeini Space Center near Semnan – the Khorramshahr medium-range ballistic missile in January and the Simorgh space launch vehicle in July 2017.
Seems IRI continues to make substantial investments in missiles and missiles related tech.

Janes.... not worth wasting your time reading it!
