Iran Considers JF-17 Thunder Purchase from #Pakistan

I don't know why Iran members are making fun of this development when addition of JF-17 and it's wide range of weapons will surely increase the strength of Iran airforce.

Instead it should be Pakistan resisting this development for risking the relationship with KSA/UAE after recent economic bailout.

If AQ Khan didnt sell anything then your military did.
So what's wrong with that? US sold Nuke tech to UK, Israel etc , so why can't Pakistan sell to other countries? There are no treaty or contractual reasons.

.
Even Benazir sold bomb designs in her era for sure to North Korea. We had a barter trade for delivery system Scuds in shape of Hatf series. And M11 in Shaheen series from China as an alternate delivery if one is not reliable enough.

.
Make sure we put a "kill-switch" on it.

As soon as it enters Pakistani airspace the engines shut off.

.
Like anything, Iranian will look at other products, then opt to purchase Tejas for Oil differed payments. India will get the Nod from US as usual, keep them happy to contain China ( yah right. )

OK

. .
The reason is obvious- lack of trust. Why? well thats a different question.

There's no reason for lack of trust, we have never used US defense equipment against India.
May be you know more on it...

you think Iranians are that stupid that they will buy Tejas ? ha ha

. .
While away I saw a report about Iran supposedly interested in the JF-17 Thunder. They might be but a CATIC source told me China will not sell to Iran because of the US sanctions. Without China’s support the JF-17 cannot be sold to any country.

Considering all that can be crammed in a small fighter these days, and their current economic crunch, Iran should look at getting the FTC-2000G. Its an all Chinese aircraft, it is even lighter weight then the JF-17 but plans to have the same WS-13 engine. Fitted with an affordable AESA radar, modern BVR and WVR missiles and an EW Suite, it could be procured in numbers, and still give the Iranians a decent defensive fighter.

Its a better option then rebuilding the F-5s especially with their older avionics / EW Suite and radars and weapons.

This would also keep Pakistan out of the Iran-Arab dispute.

very less chances that iran will consider FTC-2000G since it is heavier, slower and has less endurance than FTC-2000
