Iran is not under sanction. Only US sanction Iran. Under UN regulation, Iran is not. US is a tyrant. Pakistan with backing of China shall not be afraid US. US will sanction any country working with Russia. By US standard, JF-17 with Russia RD-93 engine has already trigger US sanction.

Cut down on iran import got nothing to do with US threat. It's due to our no insurance company willing to deal with Iran oil. Chinese government is not allowing Chinese company to insurance Chinese oil to allow double exposure to risk.

China has the money and tech to go against USA. We are not afraid of USA.

On other note.

I wouldn't wish upon Pak to tangle with US just to sell # of JF-17 to Iran, since US is one of the biggest trading partner of Pakistan with +ve trade in favor of Pak. Tell Iran that once sanctions are lifted then it would be a pleasure to do business. You can bet that once the Sanctions are lifted, Iran would be opting for EFT, Rafale or SU-35 etc. Beside long term after sale support ( engine Russia, radar China, weapons ( AAM China ) A-G Pak and China ) the dividends are minuscule for Pak vs Trade with US. What would be the Mark up of the JF-17 that needs to be split with China ? Couple of million ?

is it worth taking risk of Trade issue with US for $100 Million or so ?

Russia, China, Pakistan, Turkey, and Iran need to sit together and discuss how they will buy/sell from Iran. I think we need to set a precedent that the US has no right to control our economic and foreign policies.

Negotiations take a long time, esp on defence related items. No harm is talking to Iran now for a possible deal in the 2020s.

Not strategicaly viable . Iran is going to be strong opponent in contest of Gawadar port .in next 2 decades this could turn into hostility and dont forget another triggering aspect of saudi iran direct collision ....an inevitable event gonna happen in next 2 decades . In future,any success in Gawadar project wld be unacceptable to gulf states and iran and with indian backing things wld get messy .
Any small rocket fired across border can hit gawadar city easily , nonnstate actors / houthi type rebels can " claim" attacks . Hybrid war wld be on its peak . So as soon as Gawadar becomes a success story , pakistan fencing iran border , air survillance by uav and jets , regular military presence , strong naval presence and survillance , strict visa scrutiny from iran .
So DONT Expect any military deals btw iran and pakistan .

Iran turned down the offer for the j-10 long ago. The IRIAF is after the Russian Su-27SM with TOT.
