INS Vikrant to be commissioned by 2017: Naval chief

A nice tool to intimidate BD.....

As for Pak, these carriers are kept 7K kms away from her during the times of grave crisis....

This article says, " .....first Indian-built aircraft carrier, the Vikrant, which is already more than five years behind schedule. With cost overruns and 36 aircraft, the total price is likely to be $10–11 billion."

Remember how the Indians were so upset at the Russians for having to raise the price of what became the INS Vikramaditya? from $974 million to $2.35 billion.
" This view is reinforced by India’s bitter experience in acquiring the Vikramaditya from Russia, when the original price rose from US$974 million to $2.35 billion. Together with 45 MiG-29K aircraft and additional modifications, the overall price now sits somewhere between $6 billion and $7 billion."

9 more jets with the Vikramadiya too.

Less noise if they are paying themselves.

So it would have been cheaper buying it from Russia, considering their only contribution is building a metal tin can, I doubt it was worth it. So foreign service engineers can actually grab India by the balls? Lol. Man, China eoukd never allow such blackmail. Lol

You might be giving them too much credit. If I recall correctly they had to import special grade steel for the hull.

Another Carrier battle group taking formation.

we need atleast 3 CBG's active at all times.

Not gonna happen. The radars are made in Israel. The missiles are made in Israel. The engines are made in the US. The planes are made in Russia. All three countries are hard hit by COVID. The deliveries are delayed.

Which aircraft? More mig29s?

Khayali Pulao can be three hundies full!

They were trying to induct naval LCA on this thing.

All I see is a humongous waste of money, only to get Modi more votes by a rubber-stamp electorate who don't know their own future from a hole in the ground.
That is a false comparison because indians invented aircraft carriers, rockets and space technology.

You forgot plastic surgery which is also a tek-na-lajee. Very much needed in India. 8-)

Don't repeat these dollar figures.

Every mention is a stab in the kanjoosi heart of every Sanghi!

How much are the missiles that will take one of these things out - probably a lot cheaper? @Beast brother?

It seems Vikrant is delayed by covid which has interrupted production of Vikrant's engines in the US, radars and missiles in Israel, planes and helicopters in Russia.
