MSMC carbine Looks pretty decent To me, If its fixed with under barrel granade launcher then it would be a Killer...

Again be it infantry or special services - sending in a man in hot zone with a 900-100mm long gun does not make any sense to me.:coffee:

This is the main difference !

You are talking about pre - planned operations OR operations where you know trouble is happening and you send your soldiers to take care of the situation. Requisite at them time to arm or equip your soldiers with appropriate weapons.

But if your soldiers are patrolling through streets or by lanes or plain roads or in this case JUNGLES and if they are shot at by terrorists -- you wont expect them to run to command center to arm themselves with MP 5, do you ? The soldiers will conduct the operations using the assault rifles they have - These can be seen in numerous Afghanistan CT operations where American soldiers armed with assault rifles conduct operations. In fact in a jungle soldiers will always carry a assault rifle be it AK OR INSAS OR G3. A CQB weapon such as MP 5 is not prefered since Jungle itself has a lot of stopping power and CQB is relatively low on power.

This is what is taught by CIJWS.

CIJWS - Counter Insurgency Jungle Warfare School. They teach guerilla tactics and survival tactics in a Jungle like terrain. Carrying and shooting with a CQB weapon in a jungle - is not practical - the bullet simply wont reach the intended target.

I think we have a much different system over here as "Each" Infantry Solider in Pakistan Army undergoes compulsory Anti terrorism and Close quarter battle training.

"Each" and every Indian soldier before being deployed to fight terrorist or insurgets has to undergo specialised training.Currently there are two schools..one is in Vairengte,Manipur called CIJWS other is in Rajour J & K.These schools are very professional and train foreign soldiers too.CIJWS is for soldiers to be deployed in the north-east and the other one(whose name i dont know) is for J&K region.

* Giving your solider an Assault rifle of a size of INSAS in a Close quarter battle as shown at 1:45 is equal to getting his signature on his death warrant !

I wonder who trains these folks , extremely unprofessional.

Same people who trained US marines in guerrilla warfare..

As for the MP-5 it was only associated to the CO's but now it is widely being used among NCO's too just because of the nature of the conflict.

Though G-3 is the mainstay rifle along with AK-47 or Type-56 - Styer , M4A1 the MP-5 has widely been deployed in the Army now and they are assigned according to the nature of the operation.

The case is different with Pakistan special forces ie SSG , SSW , SSGN , PakMarines.

They use MP-5 , POF-Eye Cornershot , short barrel M4A1 and few others.

Oh!!!! I am impressed. I feel sorry, IA does not have bright brains like you.

Man, the list of weapons mentioned by you is amazing. Trust me, we have not even heard of them so far.

Pakistani army is impressive, i admit.

Now, why don't you open a separate thread and post all the stuff related to Pakistani infantry and special forces, their weapons, training, etc. I think, it will be a treat for all of us.

Isn't it a good idea?

@anathema

I was specifically talking about CQB not Urban or Jungle warfare but yes the field Rifle is very important that is why Pakistan Army is considering multiple options for Gun replacement - a gun that would perform multiple tasks in different threat environment.

Here is PK-08 5.56MM NATO .

^ Notice the short barrel , lightweight , light cartridge , integrated scope , Recoverable rail.

This rifle is suitable for Multiple scenarios - patrols -ATT and to some extent CQB too but i still envy MP-5.

Below Picture is Pakistan Rangers and you see that they are also using MP-5 just because its damn good at what it does.

First of all i do not bother replying to people like you but anyway.

You cannot restrict anything neither you can prove it otherwise as you have zero knowledge.

we are discussing CQB , taking examples from different countries .

Now keep it shut.
