Indian Navys' Wait For 2 New gen Frontline Warships will be over

This old article says "for reasons yet to become fully apparent." why?
12 years since, too much water has flown under this bridge already.
Let me go to my repertoire and find some...
There is a difference...

Brand name of which co ?
Brother can't help more. One more last attempt. This is Prasun da's comment while answering same question on his blog.
"Both AESA & APAR used active phased- array antenna. Generally, AESA refers to airborne MMRs, while APAR is available in both ground-based & warship-borne configurations."

Dude APAR is not a brand, like AESA is not.
Several companies manufacture them now.

Technically AESA is also a phased array radar. Its just different, AESA and APAR are one and same.

Thales calls its product APAR, Selex calls its product EMPAR.

and Elta calls it MF-STAR.

Even if Type 052D main radars are PESA, they are much bigger than SPY 1D in size. Overall, Type 052D's main radars should be roughly comparable to that of Israeli STAR AESA.

Its not even an AN SPY 1D. It's a PESA Sky Watch radar copy that it got from Ukraine.

AESA ELTA.........

Did INS Kolkata set world record for taking the longest time between laid out and commission? 8-)

You have poor reading skills.

Notes: This massive planar array is carried only by the carrier Admiral Kuznetsov , and by the now-decommissioned final ship of the Kiev class, Admiral Gorshkov(ex-Baku). Development was apparently very difficult and problems with the system led to delays in the commissioning of Baku. When Kuznetzov deployed in 1993 and 1994, the system was reportedly not in use. The radar is now generally regarded as a failure.

The Varyag (Kuznetzov’s uncompleted sister-ship) was sold to China without the “Sky Watch” installed. The ex-Gorshkov has now been sold to India, it is likely that the “Sky Watch” will be removed prior to transfer.

You must be really dumb to think that you can just switch a radar from an AC to a destroyer...

Since 2000, new active electronically scanned array (AESA) technology has been the newer, more capable radar design fitted on the 052C Type 346 APAR. The 052D has an improved Type 346A AESA radar. The new U.S. Navy DDG 1000 Zumwalt probably will have the new technology X-band track and S-band search dual band radar (DBR) or air missile defense radar (AMDR) currently being developed by three U.S. contractors.

As the official publication of AFCEA, a well-known and respected organization that also has been serving government and military since 1946, SIGNAL is unique from other defense and government magazines and websites.

Good find. Type 052D's main radars are indeed AESA with designation Type 346A. I thought they should be AESA because J-10B uses AESA. :p:
