Any infantry officer can easily tell you why it's not a viable stance to cross a certain area and take shots at enemy. Such Ops are not authorised. No commanding officer would want to take responsibility for conducting an adventure like this.

SSG operates under strict SOP on the LOC.
Most are involved only in retaliatory ops. our boys once let loose not only target indians posted on the actual LOC but also those posts/positions in the second n third lines of defense, well within IOK.

I think infra red can be blocked but it is harder to block thermal. Plus blocking thermal will sweat the person heavily.

Good to be proud of own army, but to believe that just Pakistani Army has good sniper and India does not is nothing close to reality.. there are enough videos even in you tube to show the contrary view of yours

I believe you are referring to light intensifying tubes (normal NVG). Otherwise infrared is same as thermal for sensors.

Obviously the level of material used in such suits would result in heat retention but one has to consider the cost/benefit of the same while choosing such suits for above referred ops.
