What's new

India to deploy Tejas aircraft on the western front by mid of this year (likely Srinagar)

other, than the block 52.f16 which number a, just 18 planes the, tejas, beats, everything else in your airforce period

your 100 or so mirage 5 and f7 are ancient with outdates, airframe weapons and radar..
your block 1 and 2 thunders, are poorly equipped for dog fighting with no hobs missle or hmd.. you hope the thunder can win in bvr but the radar has barely 100km.tracking range were as tejas has hmd hobs and israeli elta radar is 170km range...
you will.not receive the 30 new thunders until.summer 2022..
so that leaves,55 older f16
but the apg 66 radar is ok ish but 150km is barely same as elta 170km.so.f16 mlu has good weapons choice but no hobs or hmd like tejas,mark1.

you really are limited when you break.it down

The Indian Air Force (IAF) will start deploying indigenously developed Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas on the western front by mid this year from their home base in Sulur, Tamil Nadu. The LCA Tejas temporarily had deployed in the western front close to the Pakistan border to take care of any possible action by the adversary there last year but that not permanent.

Recently LCA-Tejas test-fired Python-5 Close Combat missile and also ready has cleared use of R-73 and Derby air to air missile and same will also be upgraded on the first squadron before they are cleared to operate from front line base. Astra Mk1 Air to air missile is one of the missiles that everyone is eagerly waiting to be cleared for the LCA-Tejas program but it might take some time to become operational due to the limited production rate of the missile system.

Second squadron at the home base in Sulur, Tamil Nadu. with more aircraft in the pipeline to be delivered in the next two months, the first squadron will move to the western front base to make space for the second squadron. FOC variant of the Second squadron is likely to be posted at Srinagar Air force Base to replace the Mig-21 squadron at the Air force station.
What happened? France is not confident of Indians having Rafale in this region?

it be shame if pakistan shoots down a somosa teja, plus millions cost of launching missile at it. we should at least have the decency for samosa teja to fly and crash i mean that wat they do best.

What happened? France is not confident of Indians having Rafale in this region?
NO. France has asked India not to risk it with JF-17 with PL-15. IAF has no options at all now.
Im going to deploy my honda civic 2008 with Amir liaqat as the driver.
Who is the doosara bandha? still a mystery man..any clues?

Pakistan will never shoot down this plane. As this plane is for parade only and it’s only mounted on a truck.
First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you and then you win.. I hope our adversaries and bashers keep posting negative things and we keep the Tejas improving..

So how Tejas will be brought to Sri Nagar from Tamil Nado?

On trailers?
Yes. We hired special trailers and dug big tunnels for this task.

In fact the aircraft has been modified to launch surface to air missiles since it will remain on the trucks.

Thanks for the concern displayed by quite a few of you here.

With 16 tejas now deployed on pak border
armed with python 5 wvr and Derby bvr o wounded how long the f7 and mirage would last In dog fighting
150 of pakistan total 350 fighter fleet includes, these obselete aeroplanes..
that's,like 40% of the fleet.
