India & Russia clash over foreign presence in Afghanistan

.
Indo-Russian clash over Afganistan means defacto halway manday for Pakistan!

.
So Russia is another enemy of India

That mean in any future war our FGFA will face their PAKFA

Nepra will be face their Akula

They will stop Brahmos with their S400 and we will with their S300 ???

.
Afghanistan will join SCO, Pakistan will also. Security in Afghanistan will be controlled in that way.

India's interests do not coincide with those of Russia, China or Pakistan. It's the odd one out.

Russia, China and Pak are odd three out.

. .
According to plans, the US of A would be positioning 30,000 U.S troops in Afghanistan - from Kabul to Kandahar after Dec 2014 when the ISAF departs. This force will be permanently stationed there even if the Afghan Army is fully trained and equipped to take over the security of Afghanistan.

This strategy is due to the fact that:

* Firstly, the U.S does not want a re-emergence of forces hostile to American interests in the region.
* Secondly, they need to have their footprint in this area in order to thwart any Russian influence.
* Thirdly, the need to dominate energy rich Afghanistan and play a vital role in its trade with the CIS Republics.

It would be naive to even think that the US of A will completely withdraw from Afghanistan in 2014.

Why are you two confused, India and Russia are actually on a collission course. Russia has already dumped India and is groping for a new friend, it is thirsty for a great relationship with adjectives high and deep. Now that Evil India's designs are found out we will bite the dust very soon and broken into some 'n' number of parts very soon. Get ready to meet your new master, can't say which as we can have three to four different ones. I am already preparing my flags u know.

i'd say you're confused also. Russian and Indian interests are not the same anymore.

Well that shows our independent policy, don't you think?

And who claimed that our interests have to remain the same forever?

.
india is trying to bully the soviet bear now! amazing. 1st india tries to confront china in the south china sea, and now they are trying to confront the russians in afghanistan. what are these indians thinking? must be on that power-trip. 13 billion dollars of military upgrade and suddenly they are a superpower HA HA.

i think it shows who India has decided to ally itself with. It's the odd one out in Asia.

The odd thing is that Russia is always their biggest arm supplier, bite the hand that feeds you is not wise. :coffee:

Maybe this could turn into a good news for US, since India gonna switch into a Western weapon buyer.

We do whats good for us they do whats good for them...we cant obviously do what is good for them and bad for us. Our national interest comes first.

Russia and China are major powers in Asia. While China exerts its influence all over Asia, Russia considers Central Asia as its back yard and therefore crucial to its security interests. The presence of the US in Asia limits the extent and reach of these powers severely. That is the only reason they object to US presence here. There is no other reason. With the Americans gone, both Russia and China can shape the region to their advantage. This may not necessarily be to our advantage. While we do not have any major differences or clashes of interests with Russia but the Chinese interests being more aligned with those of Pakistan are largely detrimental to ours.
India sees the US presence in Central Asia as a factor which neutralises Chinese influence here and therefore presents us with a more level playing field.
Ultimately every country has to look after its own interests. Where do interests of Afghanistan lie? Do the Afghans agree with what some 'think tank' commented above, that the security of Afghanistan will be controlled by the SCO? Does Afghanistan wish for an institutionalised interference into its security by China and Pakistan? That is for the Afghans to decide but I can not find faults with the statement of SM Krishna.

Why is such a big deal being made of this? Obviously there will be difference of views in certain matters between two nations just as there will be convergence in views in certain other matters. That is quiet normal. Russia does not trust USA as the US is setting up anti missile bases in eastern Europe and Turkey, wooing component states of erstwhile USSR with the incentive of EU and NATO membership and also building bases in CAR states. These factors do not affect our health. What does affect our health is that continuing American influence in Afghanistan and CAR will most assuredly check Chinese penetration of these areas which is what we want.

PS - Where is the bloody clash? I was looking for a goddamned clash but could not see any. Obviously, my friend the OP is up to his tricks again. Both leaders simply stated their key positions and there are jokers here who look for invisible clashes and rejoice even when they do not see any.
