News is old but, leave so many question about PMLn ..Nawaz Shareef leaked another secret to India?..another traitor..if its true then he should be hang.

Giving details of Kargil episode Siddiq ul Farooq said India had become aware of Kargil operation 11 months earlier. Therefore, it had made full preparations.

According to the then chief of army staff of India v.p.Malik " The Pakistani intrusion in the Kargil sector came as a complete and total surprise to the Indian government, Army, intelligence agencies" and he has also mentioned why it happened? due to the lack of effective role of Indian intelligence agencies so how can be it is possible that India was aware of Kargil operation 11 months earlier.

Mr.

If there was a failure of everything, then how would they know 11 months earlier?

Could you quote more extensively?

To be frank, I was there in a position to know things, but I did not know. Nor did the Corps Commander.

So who knew?

If they knew, do you think that they would have sat pretty and jeopardise their own career?

Lets have some logic to even justify the idiotic rantings of the author?

Nawaz did not know, but Indians knew.

Are you suggesting the the there are rogues operating in Pakistan who keeps the govt in the dark. If so, no wonder it appear none knows what is happening in Paksitan.

Heard the interview of Kiyani?

Is Pakistan run by organisations where the left hand does not know what the right hand does and a total free for all?

What was that???
If anything, this is another truckload of puckey. No, not horse, that's better, this is sheep, therefore the sheepish acceptance. Total disprespect for the gallant soldiers who laid their life on the frosty Himalayans.

Why on earth would Nawaz Sharif leak something like this to India? It makes no sense because the man has no love for India.

Why don't ( can't) we give this subject a decent military funeral ?

It is hurtful to all..

as long as it hurts it will be revived, there are many old'hurts' more, time to bring a new hurt

Yeah, but he is stupid enough.
Just imagine, he is the one issuing white paper and than he also says that he was not informed.
Is he trying to say that Musharraf conquered large indian territory defeating best of indian defenses. Does this not proves that he is the best asset Pakistan could ever had?
I wonder how defenseless the same enemy would be if operation had not been leaked, leaving 11 months time to enemy for consolidating its defenses.
Most funny part is Mr. Sharif’s self righteousness on this matter is officially endorsed by india and is the very foundation of their collective hate towards P. Musharraf.

Not to nitpik - there was no 'defeating the best of indian defences to occupy indian territory' - pak troops moved in to the posts when these were unoccupied in the winter. would not qualify as 'best indian defences'.

it was a gamble played well but US intervened,....

All military operations have a degree of gamble associated with them. No military operation is foolish or unnecessary. All operations are based on some strategy and objectives. In the case of Kargil initially Pakistan achieved its objectives but later these were lost due to weak political leadership.

I am sure the topic maybe discussed to death before here. But ten years on - what objectives did Kargil operation achieve? apart from the 100s of families mournign their sons , husbands, loved ones on both sides? was it needed? what did pakistan gain out of all that? for me kargil ranks with 65 war in that it achieved nothing. 47 war had something both sides got kashmir . 71 war got bangladesh. but 65 and kargil were waste of lives. i can understand 65 war in teh era of 60s and jingoism and lack of education among masses and lack of communication with media etc. but kargil - the era of TV, education, international diplomacy - appears to be a such a blunder and totally un-necessary

What kind of war strategy is this to vacate frontline posts, especially when war adversary has announced his invasion?
Will you vacate some posts again this winter?
May be you did not took Sharif’s intimation seriously!
