What kind of war strategy is this to vacate frontline posts, especially when war adversary has announced his invasion?
Will you vacate some posts again this winter?

its not war strategy. but its peace strategy to vacate forward posts during winter. the simla agreement of 1972 identified the line on the ground and both parties were to respect it. no sane indian leader would have wanted to send an expedition to vacated pakistani posts across the border but general musharaf had to do it. i would expect it in 60s but in late 90s? beyond me as to how they thought they can stay forever.
