By the way how many Mig29 BAF have right now and is their any plan to procure more.

I doubt it. As you might know, Russian birds are very maintenance intensive, and therefore costly. Flying cost/hour is $5,500. Western birds are cheaper to operate. In fact, during the BNP administration, the MiGs were grounded and seriously thought about selling them.

Most sources say BAF operates eight MiG-29 aircrafts :


Some of the air force's Russian-built MiG-29 fighters were cut from the fleet in 2002, just two years after their purchase by the previous government.


Mig-29; items: 16; transferred from Russia to Bangladesh in 1999 and 2001.


In 1999, Bangladesh obtained eight MiG-29 'Fulcrum' combat aircraft (including two UB trainers), which were declared operational by mid-2000.


Bangladesh purchased six MiG-29s and two MiG-29UBs.


Eight according to Russian website


Eight according to Flight Global in 2002 :

The migs are back in BD now from Ukraine, just reached last week (of July 2010).

Sorry to say but I have walked around, touched and an sat in the Mig-29 and its appearance or finish is not poor contrary to popular belief.

I heard that Burma is looking at buying another 20-24 Mig29smt
Frankly i dont think that J7 can matchup to Burmese future fleet of 50 odd Mig29
