Why would you, and I use 'you' generically, express your opinions about anything, from cars to politics? Because you want to sway people to your views. The operative word here is 'sway'. Not force. The implication here is that not everyone will be swayed to your view. You cannot expect acceptance but complain of rejection. Both are consequences. So if you cannot force, you have to put up with the chance that your opinions will be rejected by some.
