'Good for Christians if Hindus Avoid Convent Schools'

Most of the land owned by Xian Institutions are not 'gifted'. They are purchased by hard cash.

What is the source of this money to buy such large tracts of land by the church ?? They are the largest holders of non agricultural land in India after the govt. surely this money is not generated within the nation.. except for syrian christians of kerala, no other christian sect is rich enough to buy and hold these large tracts of land...

Do simple maths. One Convent School has a minimum of 2000 students with average monthly fee of 1000/- per month. That equates to roughly about 20 lacs per month. Even after deducting teacher's salary n misc expenses, there would be savings of roughly 12 lacs per school Per month. Multiply that by 1000s of schools and you will get to know the purchasing power of missionary schools.

The convent schools have high academic standard and thus attract rich students. These convent schools are high source of income for Christian churches while also providing employment to Christian teachers and staff. In these schools all non-Christians have to pay tuition while some Christian students are admitted on scholarship and free or reduced tuition. So non-Christians pay tuition that benefit financially poor Christian students, Christian teachers, Christian staff and Christian Church. The highly profitable school provide money to pay for Christian clergy, building Churches, hospitals and missionary work to convert people to Christianity.

Common Christians of India are very apprehensive and concerned by what they hear in news these days.

There are fringe Pentecostal and other Churchs whose sole mission seems to be aggressive proselytization. Instead of targeting them, Sangh parivar is running after the whole Christian community and Catholic/Methodist churches which are the most peaceful communities of India. BJP must identify the real trouble maker and take appropriate action within the boundaries of the law of the nation.
The Christian Far right backed by their western Donors is taking over the Christian Cause, their were Christians before & the casual attacks but there was never this message of Christians under attack like there it is now, specially when they aren't
As a Christian what is your opinion over this issue

Why are they called missionary schools? What is the mission of the missionaries?

Most don't know. Raise your voice. We shall follow you.

Mission - To spread the message of Christ to as many people as possible through acts of charity, schooling, hospitals etc.

Why are they called missionary schools? What is the mission of the missionaries?

I agree with you 100% but the Misconception that the Sangh & BJP is going after the entire Christian community is wrong they are only going after the real trouble makers where it hurts them the most their Fiances & a tip don't believe anything they say in the media i can give you countless examples of how facts are being twisted & lies are being spread to show that the Sangh & BJP are waging a war against the Minor ties

Ok, this they will need to stop in a few years.

The conversions will have to be stopped. Spread as many messages as you can. But overruling local culture and replacing it? Not acceptable.

I agree with Sarthak's statement here. People don't know of the difference between Pentecostal/xyz churches and regular churches.

The onus should be on the common Christians who should have come out and denounced these other churches earlier. However just like the common Muslims, the common Christians were not unhappy with the hook/crook method used by these churches to convert the tribals...and therefore did not say anything till the rest of us got angry.

The real loyalty would have been had these Christians - including you - raised your voice against such conversions being done by pentecostals BEFORE the rest of us got pissed off.

Now that the Hindus/Budhists/etc are angry, they are saying 'oh its not us, its the pentecostal'

PANAJI: Caitu Silva, a legislator of the ruling alliance in Goa, on Wednesday sarcastically said that if Hindus do not want to send their children to minority institution-run convent schools, then Catholic students would stand a better chance of admission.

"If Hindus don't want to send their children to convents, then better for us. There will be more seats for Catholic students to avail a better education," Silva told reporters at the state secretariat on Wednesday.

The comments by Silva, a Goa Vikas Party legislator from the Catholic-dominated Benaulim constituency, come after a Goa cabinet minister and his wife have repeatedly exhorted parents to avoid admitting their wards to minority institution-run convent schools because they claim the education and atmosphere there takes children away from Hindu culture.

Over the last three days on numerous occasions, Goa's Factories and Boilers minister Deepak Dhavalikar and his wife Lata have exhorted Hindu parents against sending their children to convent schools.

The couple have also asked women to wear kumkum (vermillion) and sarees to avoid being subjected to eve-teasing and said that adoption of Western culture leads to r@pe

This lady should be told that the very fact that Christian Schools are unaffordable to majority of Poor Christian families is the reason that Christian schools have to look for a new market to sustain their operations.

Kahan kahan se a jate hain.

For that you have to change the Constitution of India and declare it Hindu Rashtra.

Here, entire NE and S.India dosent agree with you.
No. A hundred year worth of brainwashing does not erase the bond with the land. It takes at least a couple of centuries. Like Goa.

Constitutionally the conversion trade can be stopped. A person can change his faith himself. That faith can't be introduced to him or her by a salesman, I mean a n evangelical. Ergo, it needs to come from within alone, else not.
