Madam Chairperson:

The Chinese delegation congratulates you and other members of the Bureau on your election, and will actively cooperate and support you in your work. The Chinese delegation also welcomes His Excellency Philip Sola, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Argentina, to attend today's meeting.

The Malvinas Islands issue is essentially a historical legacy of colonialism. Colonialism has brought serious disasters to the world and left an extremely disgraceful page in human history. In the 21st century, the days when Western colonists do whatever they want are gone. At the same time, we must also realize that in international relations, colonial thinking, power politics and bullying that are in the same line are still manifested in various forms, and they are still seriously impacting the normal international order and seriously damaging the sovereignty, security, and development of relevant countries. Interests and political, economic, and social stability. The international community must remain highly vigilant about this.

This year is the first year of the Fourth International Decade for the Eradication of Colonialism (2021-2030). The international community should take necessary measures to maintain fairness and justice, ensure that all forms and manifestations of colonialism are truly put to an end, and continue to promote the decolonization process of the 17 UN Non-Self-Governing Territories, including the Malvinas Islands. The United Kingdom and other administering powers (Administering Powers) should earnestly fulfill their international obligations in accordance with the requirements of the relevant UN resolutions and protect the legal rights of the people of non-self-governing territories.

China's position on the Malvinas Islands issue is consistent. We firmly support Argentina's legitimate claim to the sovereignty of the Malvinas Islands. China has always advocated the settlement of territorial disputes between countries through peaceful negotiations in accordance with the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter. We hope that the UK will actively respond to Argentina’s request, initiate dialogue and negotiations as soon as possible, and find a peaceful, just and lasting solution in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions.

Thank you, Madam Chair.

China is finally learning -- turning a blind eye to the West's vice will not make American-led bullying go away. They should learn how the Russian navy handles the UK destroyer incursing into Russian sovereignty.

By your logic, Goa is part of metropolitican Portugal, stolen by Indians. Only because of pandering to India did NATO not enact Article 5 to defend NATO and EU member Portugal.
I believe the two issues are akin to chalk and cheese, regardless my knowledge of the war is limited, so I will assume that the Indians invaded because of the ethnic population and to prevent a colonial power (even one that has been out of relevance since Prince Sebastian died/disappeared) squatting next door (please correct me if I am wrong).

And as far as I am aware the Argentinians never had a solid claim to the initially uninhabited islands prior to the French, the Spanish and then the British taking over; as far as I know (and I could be wrong),exercised their claim upon getting independence from the Spanish empire. If everyone had a claim on the basis of history, we would be in the middle of a long nuclear winter already.

What about Kashmir? Kashmir and Malvinas are in pretty similar situation

My opinion does not change on the subject regardless of the location, whether it's Jerusalem or Srinagar, the people must collectively be given the forum to make their wishes known, as it has been for the Falklands, so it should be for Kashmir, the Republic of China, Northern Ireland etc etc.

Although I also believe nationalities and borders are poison.
Did the British kill the natives again? :o: :o: :o:
Nope they killed Spaniards to occupy the island.

It does not matter as China cannot do anything to help the Argentines take over the Falklands by military means, now or in the future.

Already one of the huge QE class carriers are in service and each one of the 2 carriers of this class can hold up to 50 F-35Bs - far more powerful than any country in the whole of S America, including Brazil.

The so-called Islanders are essentially imported, seeded and planted brits from britain. Contrived settlement to make it appear on the international stage that british citizens call their colonized territory of Las Malvinas, their home. Doesn't change the fact that britain illegally occupies land far away from its contagious territory, thousands of kilometers across on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean.

Argentina needs to get it's head outta it's @$$, unify both politically and as a nation and flush out all Western elements within it's territory. Establish full trade, political and military relations with Syria, Venezuela, Iran, Russia, Pakistan, China, Malaysia and Algeria.

Wall Street and the CIA totally wrecked Argentina's economy back in the 1990s. What Argentina must do is extricate it's economy out of IMF/WB/Wall-Street debt trap, cut off all dealings with those rascals. Establish new economic policies which focus on increasing trade volume with Russia, China, Iran, Venezuela, Pakistan, Malaysia, Algeria and Indonesia. Trade with those nations who have moved away from the USD and use currency swaps, basket currencies, crypto currencies, Gold/Silver Standard and Barter as multiple levels of trade payments or exchange in value.

The truth cannot be hidden for long, as the Truth shall always vanquish falsehood. If it wasn't for france agreeing to not provide Argentina with Exocet Missiles, the result would have been a lot different back in 1982.

france helped britain win Falklands war: former minister

LONDON, March 13 AFP|Published: Wednesday March 13, 8:27 PM

France was Britain's greatest ally during the 1982 Falklands conflict, helping to sabotage Argentina's war effort, the British defence minister of the time said today.

In the first extracts of his memoirs, published in the Daily Telegraph newspaper, Sir John Nott said Paris provided secret information allowing British agents to sabotage Exocet missiles which Argentina wanted to buy.

He contrasted the French attitude with that of the Americans under then president Ronald Reagan.

Despite their "special relationship", Washington pressed for a compromise peace deal over the British territory in the southern Atlantic Ocean, off the Argentine coast.

Although British prime minister Margaret Thatcher had clashed repeatedly with the then French president Francois Mitterrand, notably over Europe, he came to her aid immediately.

"In so many ways Mitterrand and the French were our greatest allies," Nott says in his memoirs, which coincide with the 20th anniversary of Argentina's invasion of the archipelago, known to Argentinians as the Malvinas.

As soon as the conflict began, France made available to Britain examples of Super-Etendard and Mirage aircraft which it had sold to Argentina so British fighter pilots could use them for training, Nott says.

Paris also passed on information on the Exocet missile - which Argentinian forces used to devastating effect - showing how to tamper with it.

"A remarkable worldwide operation then ensued to prevent further Exocets being bought by Argentina," Nott says.

British agents posed as arms buyers on the international market, outbidding the Argentinians for Exocets, while others "covertly rendered them inoperable, on information supplied by the French".

"In spite of strenuous efforts by several countries - particularly Israel and South Africa - to help Argentina, we succeeded in intercepting and preventing the supply of further equipment to the Argentines, who were desperately seeking resupply," the former defence minister said.

As for Thatcher's friendship with Reagan, Nott said "he remained a West Coast American looking south to Latin America and west to the Pacific. Sometimes I wondered if he even knew or cared where Europe was."

The US State Department, "dominated by Latinos", put huge pressure on London to negotiate, he added.

"They couldn't understand that to us, any negotiated settlement would have seemed like a defeat."

lol... shall we just leave it up to the Argentinians themselves to decide who they want to ally with, and whether they want to administrate the islands that are currently still under foreign administration? i think we should.
