He's my hero all the ahmedis hate him though cuz he was strict towards them so it's understandable

Yes he's the hero for all religious extremists. Ahmadis should hate him and ZAB, poor Ahmadis have been continuously persecuted thanks to these 2 guys. Infact all of Pakistan should hate those 2 corrupt scums. These 2 people were the reason for religious extremism in Pakistan although Zia was definitely the man who damaged Pakistan the most. He brought in millions of refugees from Afghanistan to Pakistan which had long term side effects. His hardcore Islamic laws islamisized Pakistan which we are now paying the price for.

He was the worst thing tht happened to Pakistan.

General Zia Ul Haq was a blessing sent from Allah (swt) to protect Pakistan and defeat the enemies of Pakistan.

He is the main reason why Soviets are extinct.

The worst imaginable thing for Pakistan is to be surrounded by two enemy giants, one of the enemy being a superpower.

If you are a Pakistani nationalist as you say, then you must read 2 Nafl everyday for General Zia Ul Haq. He is the reason why Pakistan is still standing today.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Not a surprise that you and indians hate this man. The enemies of Pakistan always hate those who fight for Pakistan.

Tell me one good thing he did for Pakistan? He is not even 1% close to the greatness of Quaid e Azam, Liaqat Ali Khan, Ayub Khan or even Musharraf.

Nothing. He was a mediocre army official and that's why ZAB promoted him--thinking may be this 'pious' Muslim officer wll not mount a coup. You know that Ayub--the secular--and even Yahya, the secular--mounted coups. Yes, even Yahya was declared a 'usurper'. So ZAB thought that may be this proto-Taliban, mediocre general Zia will be 'faithful' to his oath, being a 'pious' Muslim.

Anyway, if General Zia really did so much for Pakistan in Pakistan's 1/4th history (between 1977-1988) then surely there will be more people to praise of him? Surely as he and his followers really tried to build-up an anti-Bhutto legacy? Where is that? Why almost all Pakistani commentators now agree that Zia was an unadulterated curse upon Pakistan. They don't think the same about Ayub--who hardly left any legacy in 1969.

But then...talking to these arm-chair jihadis is like playing the proverbial flute to a buffalo.

"Bhens ke aage been bajao".

but you see that also ussr was superpower at that time i really like that he won war from them @karachitte yar they were trying to even take baluchistan and them follow to warm waters.he was good man and also he did quran pak tilawat first time in un i have seen on youtube.

The Soviets were as interested in Pakistan as they were in Afghanistan. The Soviets wanted their empire to reach to the Arabian Sea that is the reason they invaded Afghanistan in the first place. The only way they could get their empire to reach the Arabian Sea was through Pakistan's Balochistan Province. That is why General Zia Ul Haq said in the video that if they attack Afghanistan then the day is not too far that they will attack Pakistan. And you know that indians would've worked with the Soviets to attack Pakistan. The Soviets would attack Pakistan from the western front, the indians from the eastern front and there goes our Pakistan.

We were at war then and Pakistan's economy was booming at the time of General Zia Ul Haq. We are at war now, and Pakistan is almost bankrupt under PPP rule.

If Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was alive in the late 1970's/early 1980's he would've handed Balochistan over to the Soviets like he handed over East Pakistan to the indians.

But it is true that Zia killed Muslims in Jordan for a few Dinars thrown his way and he claimed he was a pious Muslim.

A pious Muslim without mercy killing other Muslims, who have taken shelter in a Muslim land and who have been thrown out of their home and land by non Muslim.

Hardly the qualifications for a good Muslim, let alone a pious Muslim!

And yes Zulfi broke Pakistan but Zia is no hero either.

He has brought the misery Pakistan is in today and where Pakistan is being subject to Taliban bombers and to top it, has to listen to the dictates of a foreign power and where this foreign power with impunity drone attacks Pakistan!!

Hardly a good Muslim or a leader!

Equating the killing off of that Palestinian insurgency in Jordan with killing innocent Muslims is like saying Hazrat Ali was responsible for kiling innocent Muslims. Zia stopped Palestinians who were trying to destabilize Jordan. What was he supposed to do, help them overthrow the Jordanian regime? Plaestinians aren't exactly angels, that the world would be a better place with them in charge of more than a few kilometers of area.

If you look at T-Faz's post on page 1 it explains that ia did not have a hand in defeating the soviets and instead was responsible for the destruction of Pakistan and also Afghanistan.
Zia ul Haq made good economic reforms but whats the use of that when the Islamisization he did to Pakistan came back to haunt us and destroyed our economy later on?
Bhutto was the man who actually started the reformed our economy after 1971 war and was doing a good job at it. If Zia would have let him continue there would probably be no army rule later on and things wouldn't be looking shaky like right now. Not to mention we definitely wouldn't see Radical islam spread through all of Pakistan.

One may not agree with Zia's personal views on state, but that doesn't mean you can deny his services to the nation, including pulling it back from the disaster of Bhutto's nationalism, exploiting Pakistan's advantageous position during the Afghanistan war to the full and raising the level of the average Pakistani more than any other leader before or since.

Zia himself was partial to a more public version of Islam and encouraged that, but no matter which leader had come in his place, it would have been difficult to stop the rise of religious extremism and terrorism after Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had set the ball rolling.

If Zia let Bhutto continue runing the country, there would be no Pakistan because the Soviets with the help of Indians would've destroyed Pakistan together.

Radical Islam is just propaganda made by the west and some anti-pashtun MQM members in Karachi. There was not a single case of suicide bombing in Pakistani soil before US Invasion of Afghanistan in 2001. Pakistan was a lot safer under General Zia Ul Haq's rule than under PPP's rule today. Before 2001, FATA was the most peaceful area in Pakistan. Swat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was a tourist paradise even for westerners. The US invasion of Afghanistan created radical Islam in Pakistan, not General Zia Ul Haq.
