What objective did Pakistan achieve? Even if several Indian jets were downed, which is doubtful, India achieved military and strategic goals.

1. Big retaliation in response to terror attack. This establishes precedence and next time it may be worse.

2. Held Pakistan accountable (no hiding behind ‘non-state’ actors).

3. Took nukes out of the equation, escalated/de-escalated at will.

4. Put Pakistan under pressure. Biden would have come very close to designating Pakistan state sponsor of terror (if not outright done it), along with the dilapidating sanctions that come with it.

While Pakistanis celebrate downing of an Indian fighter jet like you have won the World Cup.

India's strategic objectives: go begging again for source code 4 years after weapons delivered instead of having the intelligence to have negotiated it up front.

And second objective achieved is to get Bangladesh to go Chinese weapons.

And put China's armaments tech at par with Western......

And they got 5 more pilot candidates for future promotions.

I want PAF and PN immediately defunded and all resources put toward acquiring hypersonic missiles, drones and proper AD/ surveillance.

Its a war of attrition: wars do not produce winners. This leads to a war of attrition. Hypersonic vs. Hypersonic.

That , short of nuclear deterrent, is deterrent enough. Next time , the attacks may not be limited to the military targets in either side.

India may target cities. But then Pakistan will have also India's economic centers.

Both will lose civilians.

But Pakistan doesn't have any external investment (or much) coming in. That is unfortunate. India on the other hand runs on 10s of billions of $ of FDI. Once Banglore and Chennai are hit, the profile for India changes. This is where Pakistan has nothing to lose, but India basically becomes Israel.

A lot western companies pulled out of Israel in 2023. India has reputation and economic development to lose. This is where Pakistan's current unfortunate situation in terms of being behind economically are not a further loss.

So don't be a defeatest and give up: whats your alternate, just take it into the chin? Is this what you would do if your wife was verbally used right outside your house by a bigger guy? No you have to hit back with what you can and exploit vulnerability.
