“Azerbaijan-Pakistan military relations are developing,” the Ambassador of Pakistan to Azerbaijan, Saeed Khan Mohmand, said, APA reports.

The ambassador stated that if Azerbaijan needs military support Pakistan is always ready for it: “Azerbaijan has bought 10 aircraft from Pakistan. We are ready to provide Azerbaijan with JF-17 aircraft of Pakistan production."

Try to keep it at one place. Thread merged.

Why would Azerbaijan send novice pilots that they have to go through "beginner lessons" ?
JF-17 training would be simulator training followed with actual flight training.

PAF regularly trains cadets from friendly nations, this doesn't mean anything. There is no confirmation anywhere if Azerbaijan purchasing the JF17.

An offer isn't a confirmation either.
Beginner lessons... one can't jump onto a fighter jet without going through basic training before fighter conversion. Like A,B & C.

I understand what you mean but I don't think they are novice to learn basics here. I am sure simulator alone is not the solution for foreign air forces pilots. However, Thunder for Azerbaijan is the strong case here. May be, we will have to dig for more authentic source but above post is coming from Azerbaijan source.

But that is a K-8.

It may be they are training for jf but the picture is of k-8 or there may be azri under training pilots as well

Actual translation states

Azerbaijani pilots undergo training to control jf-17 in Pakistan

But the pic is of k-8

so by my count there are 19 confirmed export sales of jf-17 so far. 16 to burma and 3 to nigeria.
Is this correct or not?
And how many of each order have been delivered?

There was a tid bit that Nigeria order is 4 eventually they will add to full sqn strength like Myanmar [emoji1175]

Malaysia (~2 Sqn) and Azerbaijan (~1-2 Sqn) are next in line but not sure usually these contracts take a while

Pakistan to export JF – 17 Thunder Fighter Jets to 4 countries

Web Desk

OCTOBER 15, 2019

Pakistan is all set to export JF – 17 Thunder Fighter Jets to 4 countries, reports have revealed.

Pakistan is now eyeing export markets in third countries in India’s neighborhood and among New Delhi’s traditional defence partners in Africa.

The subject of Chinese fighter aircraft and other military hardware supplied to Pakistan for exports to third countries figured high on the agenda of Pakistan Army chief’s visit to Beijing last week.

It is also revealed that Pakistan plans to sell batches of JF-17 Thunder fighters that it has built with Chinese assistance to India’s neighbor Myanmar and Nigeria, India’s old defense partner in Africa.

Myanmar has already purchased four thunder jets through Chinese assistance. Pakistan also plans to export JF-17 to Malaysia and Azerbaijan as well as additional fighter jets to Nigeria, which now has three JF-17s, as per the sources.
