Egypt is already have weapons from different sources for about 50 years and there was no problem...and this is just replacing.

The most powerful ,capable army in the Middle East and North Africa is the Egyptian Army...and with diversified armaments from different sources with number 1 military schools in the region that students/officers are studying from different countries including KSA,UAE,Algeria,Soudan,S.Sudan, Pakestan, Bahrain and different other countries.

The army that found a simple solution to the Barleve line that The Russian said it needs a nuclear bomb to destroy it..... But a young officer in the Egyptain Army has a different opinion by using the water canons to destroy the sand hill that almost vertical on the side of the Suez canal.

That type of army can handle a small logistical problem in order not to be under any one's mercy.

It's definitely a good thing. I guess the main difference between this pod and the ALQ239 is the latter is built-in to the F-15's, whereas this thing uses up a pylon that can otherwise be used for an additional ordinance of any kind. But overall, this MiG-29M/M2/35 already has quite a bit of protective gadgetry, from the nacelle- mounted EW (I guess you can call them "fixed pods") to the MAWS to the LWS. It's basically the most advanced MiG to date and already has all these excellent built-in features.

it all depends on the mission and the configuration.. only one or two Migs in a squadron will be equipped with the jammer on top of their own weapons while the rest will have their full gear of weapons..

Egypt is getting a blend of the Mig-29M-M2 and the Mig-29 K with Mig-35 new technologies.. it is a tailor made Advanced Mig-29/35 to the Egyptian specs.. in this regard it is a unique fighter.. it is not an export version.. it got the best that Russia can provide..and Russians said officially that they want to equip their Mig-35s like the Egyptian ones..

Most militaries in the world buy their weapons from different sources.. Egypt is no exception..in the air forces, there are problems of integration and compatibility, but Egypt seems to have the solutions due to their long experience in dealing with Eastern and western systems.. Don't forget that Egypt was making its own fighter planes, air to air missiles and ballistic missiles in the early 60s.. So the engineering solutions of Egypt are well developed..

We were thru with them in 95, with the worst world embargo that did everything they could to corral us both politically and materially...Just what Syria is facing now without the Russian help..
It was the political facet that didn't follow and the return of Bouteflika brought them back. He is known by the Algerian of the GIA's father...The only remnant of them in the country, are the one working for the dz munchkin!
The Algerian army is not the biggest of Africa, but she is the most qualified as "army" that can rival the western best.
