Egypt instead of wasting money on the yesterday years F 15's regardless whenever they are manufactured should ask for the F 35's. If USA refuses the F 35's then Egypt should buy S 500 from the Russia.

The US don't sell downgraded systems..the fact is that Usrael is allowed to modify and add its own components on any US and EU weapons it gets.. that is the real difference..

On paper, the Egyptian Air Force looks pretty powerful:

* 218 F-16s
* 24 Rafales (30 on order)
* 17 SU-35s

(Also 119 K-8s!)

No BVR? There must be a few R-77s with the SU-35s and why would Rafales not come with BVR?

Add 50 Mig-29M-M2.. all with BVR..

Don't compare Egypt and Turkey. Two different situation. Egypt bought S300VM BUK KA-52 MIG-29M2 between 2014 to 2016. SO different times plus Turkey knows very well that S-400 is made for F-35 so why would they give F-35 when you have to key shot down it. The most important thing is that Egypt suffered MUCH MORE because the American policies against us then with you. For decades, USA underequipped us like the F-16 AIM-120 missiles no Longbow radar for our Apache fleet. For once, Egypt army now can breath more without the QME.

Yes, Israel is allowed to modify American equipment with its own components. Israel has its own Military Industrial Complex (MIC) to look up to.

GCC member states receive very good hardware anyways.

Egypt is a direct threat to Israel. GCC is not. I'm pretty sure any USA weapons system given to Egypt will be downgraded or have a digital back door to allow the Israeli to disable them.

AIM-7 Sparrow is considered as BVR missile and Egypt have a large stockpile of those missiles. Egypt is using the F-16 fleets as ground support and air support but the arrival of MIG-29 with its BVR missile, we will be using the MIG-29 as Air Support and the F-16 more for ground support missions. All these is because the negligence of last president (Mubarak) he didn't buy more Mirage 2K with BVR missiles but he deicded to buy more F-16 for "free" through the US military aid (1.3 billion $)

Apparently a similar offer was made to Pakistan in return for abandoning a few programs. But that is tangential

tbh I wonder if the US would try getting that influence via the GE F110.

Basically, it can tell the PAF, "you play ball, and you'll get the TFX 10-12 years earlier thanks to the GE F110." While an F-15 offer sounds great on paper, it would enable the US to control both the fighter and munitions stacks.

In all likelihood, I don't think the US would allow the PAF to hold sizable stocks of JASSM or JSOW. However, with the TFX, there's a reasonable chance of integrating a variant of the Ra'ad, IREK/ER, and some other stuff. So, it'd give the PAF some flexibility.

It's not total influence, but having a hand in the TFX's engines could be a comfortable middle-ground for the US. On one end, the US can still exert some influence over the PAF's deep strike capability. OTOH, the PAF isn't tied down; it has just enough flexibility to deter India.

The F-15 deal wasnt even suggested to congress and is yet to be voted on until now theres no f-15 deal and the Su-35 deal has not been canclled in anyway last leaked image was febraury the 9th. The Su-35 and rafale's ammunition deals being signed is the biggest clue that Egypt does not follow the US's geopolitical ambitions of region balance.
