Well I'm about to prove you right aren't I.
First toppling their legitimate government
Firstly, the executive (PM and all ministerial positions) were unelected. Secondly, the majority of ministers resigned on the 30th of June before Morsi was relieved of his duties.
Morsi wasn't legitimate after his constitutional decree. You should probably look it up.
second supporting the dictatorship which paralyzes the whole society, and now third...souring relations with the most aspiring power of the region..
It was the Turkish premiers decision to sour relations. Egypt hasn't cut any diplomatic relations with other nations.
Egyptians are such retards that they have a satirical show where one comedian makes fun of government. When that show criticized Morsi, Muslim Brotherhood government sent them a 'notice' and Egyptians were APPALLED! Freedom of speech or democracy were under thread by evillll "Islamists" blah blah..
Now, the same show criticized military on something, and the military just
banned the show and took it
off air And Egyptians are now sitting like dumb ducks....
Now if you actually bothered reading any article on the events that lead to the show being plugged I wouldn't need to reply to you but since you have no clue about anything regarding Egypt I have to.
Regarding the 'notice', it was really a case sent to the General Prosecuter in order to investigate Bassem Youssef for insulting Islam and the president (which obviously didn't stick).
Regarding the military and the show apparently being "banned", the show was pulled off air by CBC not the military (CBC being the channel the show was being aired on). CBC had received public reports complaining about the show to which it released an apologetic message on air which angered Bassem Youssef and he decided to dedicate an entire episode to rip the channels policies and presenters apart (it supported the Mubarak regime). That lead to him being plugged. Bassem Youssef was making fun of the military when the SCAF was in power and nothing happened to him and his show isn't banned hes stuck in a state of limbo because of his contract when those issues are resolved he can move to any channel and continue his YouTube broadcasts (which get millions of views). He also has a weekly article in the papers (that wasn't "banned").
Most importantly, Egyptians destroyed their economy, with Morsi Egypt was slowly getting back on his knees.
Foreign reserves cut in half over a span of a year, unemployment up a couple of percentage points, currency being devalued, fuel crisis, electricity crisis, and negotiations with the IMF over a loan which would lead to subsidies being cut on goods and fuels (look what happened when Sadat tried to do that). Egypt wasn't getting back on her knees she was being drowned by inept ministers who had no clue what they were doing.
None of the issues of the protesters are met, there is still no freedom of speech and democracy is also nowhere to be seen.
Because Morsi was going to deliver bread (signifying life), freedom, and social justice, right?
Morsi was also going to deliver a nation in which democratic processes were respected as was the rule of law, right?
Sometimes you have to choose between the lesser of two evils.
Most of the times there isn't a lesser of two evils. Welcome to the real world.
Muslim Brotherhood should've been give a fair chance..and if they had failed..just kick them out of power.
Again, constitutional decree look it up. Morsi wasn't kicked out because he couldn't deliver economic power in the space of months......
Love you too.
Democracy and freedom of speech is not there with this new government.
It wasn't there with the last one either. Anyway, the referendum on the constitution should be in a month or so with parliamentary elections a few months after that and the presidential elections by the start of next summer.
US should stop aid to this begger basket country called Egypt.
The military aid is a stipulation of the 1979 peace treaty. They have no control on whether it can be cancelled or not.
This country has always been like this, always looking at other people's hands for free hand-out.
Please tell me more Mr. Egyptologist. I'm sure you have detailed knowledge of thousands of years of history.
They take hand-out money from US but when a brother country who only has good intent for Egypt they lash out and insult us by expelling the Turkish envoy.
The actions of your premier has lead to this not the actions of Egypt.
