wrong both the versions of MK2 are delayed not cancelled its onli since airforce despartely needs replacement of Mig21s Improoved MK1a is given priority and 99 GE414 engines are already on order

Great decission, because its the Dassault, who could really help India in its LCA, because they are the one who have reviewed the Design and project defination of the LCA program initially. Dassault have a good experience of the sucessful fighter plane like Mirrage and Raffale and even have the Carrier based 4th Gen fighter plane.

This is catergorically false. The MK.2 is not in danger- the IN and IAF are fully commited to it but the Mk.1A/P/+ is being devloped to serve as a way of covering the gap as the Mk.2's devlopment work (that will be extensive) is conducted.

AMCA is a seperate project entirely with seperate budgets and teams.

And honestly, if this is part of the offset for the Rafale deal, it makes sense.

36 jets is too little to get an entire assembly line. If there are expected follow-ups, a final one appears
credible. If there is a life-cycle element ( there is ) that plant can do major overhauls later to support
the maintenance done inside the AF.

From that standpoint, getting assistance on an indigenous product to be inducted is a pro-active use
of the cash value the offsets cover. Essentially, Dassault will be working for free on the LCA Navy Mk2.

And there is hardly better ToT than being thought a new skill of immediate and future use. Just use the
best guys that can soak up the most knowledge and voilà!


I have relative trust in IDRW however so an official confirmation would be nice.

Naval mk2 will be the first to get developed , as navy wanted Mk2 from the beginning .

Am pretty sure our IAF will want mk2 after naval mk2 is developed.
