And honestly, if this is part of the offset for the Rafale deal, it makes sense.
36 jets is too little to get an entire assembly line. If there are expected follow-ups, a final one appears
credible. If there is a life-cycle element ( there is ) that plant can do major overhauls later to support
the maintenance done inside the AF.
From that standpoint, getting assistance on an indigenous product to be inducted is a pro-active use
of the cash value the offsets cover. Essentially, Dassault will be working for free on the LCA Navy Mk2.
And there is hardly better ToT than being thought a new skill of immediate and future use. Just use the
best guys that can soak up the most knowledge and voilà!
I have relative trust in IDRW however so an official confirmation would be nice.
