Dual use technology can be applied to number of diffrent fields but the reason why India lags behind is due to the past events


the early stages of designing the GSLV booster for communications satellites, India struck a deal with Russia to provide hydrogen-fueled rocket engines and technical know-how.

The agreement was quashed in 1992 after U.S. authorities imposed sanctions on Glavkosmos, the Russian company providing technology to India. The United States feared the transfer of missile technology from the fractured Soviet Union to developing states.

India responded by purchasing seven readymade cryogenic engines from Russia and starting the design of an indigenous upper stage from scratch.

This is the difficulity we are having but it is just a matter of time b4 we perfect it like China.

During the cordial Sino-Soviet relations of the 1950s, the USSR engaged in a cooperative technology transfer program with the PRC under which they trained Chinese students and provided the fledgling program with a sample R-2 rocket.

The first Chinese missile was built in October 1958 as a reverse-engineered copy of the Soviet R-2 SRBM, itself an upgraded version of a German V-2 rocket. Its range was 590 km, weighing 20.5 tons and propelled with liquid oxygen and alcohol.

The United States government has long been resistant to the use of PRC launch services by American industry due to concerns over alleged civilian technology transfer that could have dual-use military applications to traditional allied countries such as Pakistan, North Korea, Iran or Syria, and in 2000 announced an official embargo. Thus, financial retaliatory measures have been taken on many occasions against several Chinese space companies.[16]

Exactly what civilian technologies can be applied to Giant rockets? Who is selling us this stuff.


Answer:

Almost NONE!!

This is the reason why so few nations have good rockets. USA(Top notch Saturn V). Russia #2. China #3.

Advanced nations like Japan, Germany, France do not build rockets!. This only shows that how little civilian tech can be applied to Rocketry! Only millitary and space angencies uses rockets!

India does not have its own rocket, they are all Russian designs.!

In the near future, China will be #2, if its 120 ton Rocket becomes successful!

See, China gets sancioned FAR more than India.

Yet still comes up with much better and advanced stuffs that India can not!

You have got to be kidding me. Pulling up things from 60 plus years ago is not going to win you any credibility. Currently China designs and produces Rockets only behind the U.S and not for long Russia. We don't need help from anyone.

As you can see America has succeeded in blocking our efforts to acquire dual use technologies.

I never said you did not perfect the technology I was just pointing out why India had difficulity in the field I am the first to admit you are ahead of us in the space program perhaps you can help us :cheers:

It's just frustrating when I see threads like the India and Japan working together on space programs and people bragging that they will beat us in the space race. It's just ludicrous and obnoxious.

Look you have been civil so far but you will get a lot of flak if you are trying to suggest China needs rocket technology from any country. We don't as we will soon be the second largest space power.

China would probably help but I am 100% sure the GOI will not accept it.

if you want Japanese help then you will need American backing as it was the Americans who saved their program from financial and technical failure.

India does want to "beat" China, in fact in every field!

But it is working out the opposite way :lol::lol:

You might not need it now but there was a point in time you did have Soviet help thats a fact as did India but right now you do not need outside help and if we perfect this big hurdle in the cryogenic engine stage we will also be the sixth entity, after United States, Russia, China, Japan and Europe, to develop this technology and be independent like you.

yes we admit we had soviet help 60 years ago in the space sector. But if we relied on that we wouldn't be sending much into space at all. Right now Russia is falling behind due to financial and yes even technical problems. They recently had several launch failures.

A Russian space agency official was quoted as saying the design is 100% Russian,12 but Chinese officials insist the spacecraft are built entirely in China, and some Western experts cite differences in specific features of Shenzhou versus Soyuz (for example, the Shenzhou orbital module has its own propulsion system, while the Soyuz orbital module does not).13
