China's new-generation fighter jet is scheduled to make its maiden flight in 2021, an aviation industry report revealed on Monday. Analysts speculate that it will be China's new aircraft carrier-based fighter jet.

It would be interesting for sure. I had assumed it to be a dead project, owing to lack of PLAAF involvment. Lets see. If it does find favour in PLAN, then it might do so for PAF aswell as a short term capability increase.

It all depends on the engines, and if it can also use the RD series as does the JF17.
